headphones, master output volume, and direct out

My set up since I got the HD500 is direct stereo out, 1/4 inch right or left out to a Vox pathfinder 15r. Then 1/4 inch line out of the amp to a direct box connected to the house PA.The master output volume on the HD500 at 12:00. The volume on the amp set a little better then half way. The amp is my guitar monitor. The rest of the band is thru a avion system with a monitor amp and speaker. I like this because it isolates me from the band. I play in a church worship band and the venue is some what small. So stage volume needs to be minimal. I am looking at running the HD500 direct to the house PA, 1\4 inch right or left, or XLR right or left outputs. I will then use the in ear monitors instead of the monitor amp and speakers.

So the problem I am facing now is. I am using the head phone out put on the HD500 with the ear buds of the avion system to edit and set up set list. The presets I have are very loud, so the master output volume has to be turned down to 8:00 or 9:00. This has some changes to the tone of the presets to the point where I would need to edit them. Any drive or hi gain preset I have is scratchy and fuzzy.

How would I go about setting the master out put volume. Put it at 12:00 and adjust the levels of the presets. That would make the out put level of the 1/4 inch right or left very low when connected to the church PA. Or set the master out put volume to 8:00 or 9:00 when at home. That changes the tone of a lot of my presets.

Thanks,
