POD XT Live and USB help.

OK, I've had my XT Live for a while and it has worked flawlessly.

That was until my computer hard drive crashed.

 

Now, when I run it normally, everything is fine.

When I connect a USB cable, only the left/mono output works.

I have tried various USB cables and verified my other cables are good.

 

When connected via USB, if I unplug the right cable, sound comes out both speakers.

If I reconnect the right channel, only the left side produces sound.

 

This never happened before, and I downloaded the most current drivers and software from Line 6

after the replacement of the hard drive.

 

I have used the USB as the audio interface and it dies the same thing.

 

BTW, Yes, I had a backup of all my data, so I wasn't as sad as I could have been.

    What are you connecting to?

     

    When you say left and right, are you referring to the analog outs?

     

    Just for clarification, Monkey sees the xt and has green ticks for everything?

      OK, My computer is running the latest Line 6 software and the latest drivers for all my devices.

      My devices consist of the PodXT Live, Variax 300 Electric and Variax 700 Acoustic.

       

      I have a 64 bit installation of Windows 7 Professional.

       

      I run my computer, Pod XTLive and TC-Helicon VoiceLive 2 through a mixer

      into a power amp and then out to Speakers.

       

      When I run audio from my computer, everything works fine.

       

      When I connect the XT Live via USB, the audio out on the computer

      changes from the computer's audio card to the audio of the XTLive.

       

      When this happen, there is only output to the left speaker.

      Both the XT audio and the computer audio route through the XT.

       

      When I disconnect the right 1/4" cable from the output of the XT, both speakers

      have output, but it is in mono.

      This is what I would expect, but I don't understand why the Stereo isn't working.

       

      When I switch the default audio device on the computer from the XT back

      to the Audio card, everything goes back to normal (i.e. Stereo output from

      all devices)

       

      I know the VoiceLive 2 has no effect, as it works normally in all cases.

      And the XT Live has the same strange operation in both configurations.

    Is your TC-H connect via USB?

     

    Not sure how you have your xt connected to the mixer, when you unplug the R analog, you should not have the PODxt Live sounding thru both speakers. This part confuses me. For example, I have a basic mixer and have the L&R analog out of my PODxt and HD routed to 2 stereo strips.  If I unplug the Left, I will hear only the Right channel, if I unplug the Right, I will hear only the Left channel. If you call up an exaggerated stereo delay and unplug the right and you hear mono thru bith speakers, can you tell oif it is the xt's L&R in mono, or is only the L or R?

      Yes, the TC-H does connect via USB, but the XT Live acts the same way if the TC-H is connected or not.

       

      My XT Live is connected to a stereo input on the mixer. L/R 1/4" inputs.

      I seems that the mixer, when only receiving the left channel automatically switches to Mono through both speakers.

      It doesn't matter which end of the Right side jack I remove (XT Live or Mixer end)

      With a ping pong delay, It just plays mono through both speakers.

      I've done a modified fix by using the headphone out to the line in on the computer.

      This allows me to record in Stereo. It must be something to do with using the USB as a Playback device for the computer.

      The Computer and the XT Live get confused when the XT Live is used as a playback device by the computer.

      At Least I've narrowed it down some.

    If you don't have the TC connected can select Line6 PODxt ASIO in your DAW and record a receive a stereo signal?

      I've put the XTlive away for a bit and I am focusing on the VoiceLive with my variax acoustic 700.

       

      I got tired of messing with it. I'll go back to it later.
