pod hd 500 - no volume ?

ok im like a total noob, Just got my pod hd 500.

 

but I cant get the pedal to work

on the screen :

-The Drive , BASS , MID , Treble .. volume and master is all 0%

-" Amp knobs (momentary)"

- and next to    1 -  "amp disabled"
