Hi everyone
have registered the POD etc
Downloaded the latest monkey, drivers etc
Have installed the drivers
When I plug in the POD Windows in unable to install the device = error is it is unable to locate the driver!
Have tried on multiple USB ports. Cable is fine. Works for my X3.
Any ideas?
It's windows 7 32 bit
I'm a bit stumped
thanks ! ![]()
Mabe you have installed the driver while the device was already been plugged.
Try this:
1. Unplug USB cable
2. Deinstall driver / reboot (just to get sure)
3. Reinstall driver
4. Now plug your POD.
Hi Mazuwa
thanks for the reply
I have now uninstalled the driver for the POD 300 and reinstalled it. Then plugged in the POD at the appropriate time following the guide and then windows attempted to install the device.
It was again unable to do so. I got a message saying:
"Device driver software was not successfully installed
Please consult with your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed".
I am now not sure what to do. Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions?
thanks!
I would do what the message you are getting suggests. Open a support ticket here:
thanks silverhead
- some good news however - I got it to work. I tried again on my final USB port on this laptop and it worked! No idea why it works on one USB port but not the other two. After the drivers installed, I tested the EDIT program and it worked. Then I unplugged it and tried on one of the other 2 ports - no good. Can't find the POD. And yet that port works for my X3 and gearbox!
Anyway glad I got it going on one port anyway. I tried to update the firmware and got an error saying unable to download or something. But I will try that again later. But some good prgress anyway.
thanks all for you help

The most likely reason is that the two ports it does not work on are connected to an internal USB hub inside your computer, and the one that works does not go through an internal hub. Line 6 drivers are not supported with the use of USB hubs, whether internal or external. Sometimes they work (X3) and sometimes they don't (Pod HD).
thanks silverhead. Yep that could explain it. Not sure how the USB ports are rigged up in this thing - glad one works anyway.
I like to be able to work with the EDIT program for changing sounds and patches etc with the POD.
geoffa,
to check the usb port you can join the device manager.
See audio-/video-/gamecontroller -> Then Double click on: LINE 6 POD HDXXX. Here you can see the connected port and hub number!
Hi mazuwa
I had a look inside the device manager and indeed there seems to be some hubs in operation under the usb section. So looks like silverhead was correct! I know now which port to use the POD on so all is good!
thanks again
cheers
