POD HD MIDI Latency Issues in Logic

I'm trying to get my POD HD Pro to do what my semi-traditional 250LB rig does:
Precise automatic looping (No accidental early/late starting/stopping)
Automatic effect changing
Automatic amp channel changing on two amps
Automatic A/B switching - send signal to two amps at different times
Delay/Tremolo/etc. exact tempo sync
Turns on the tuner mode for me on long parts I don't play
And it's one less band member needed ![]()
I don't touch a single pedal or button during the show
It all seems easy enough, but the POD HD has some latency issues when I'm sending it MIDI CC messages from Logic. I don't have this problem when running the sames setup with my M9 pedal.
All my firmware is up to date. I start a loop with the POD (CC #60/127) using Logic and it records my playing. Then I play it back once (CC# 62/127) and it plays it back, but 1/4 second late while still recording. Overdub is CC #60/0 and that is nowhere on my MIDI list. I've had a lot of experience with this over the last year with Apple Logic and the M9 during live shows. It feels like the HD Pro is being too sluggish in responding to MIDI. Does anyone have a fix? I would love to be able to downsize a little. Thanks!
Is it that the POD HD can't handle more than 1 MIDI message at once or is it just to slow to respond to changes?
I also tried setting the POD to 'OMNI" and make the different tasks on different channels from Logic:
Channel 1: Starts/Stops Recording
Channel 2: Starts/Stops playback
Channel 3: Swtiches patches
No dice. Any help?
After giving up on the unit, I thought I'd give it another try. Is anyone else having latency issues with their POD Pro? I now have it set to receive CC and Programs changes on channel 5. MIDI info is being sent from Logic. Again, there is a short latency issue when automatically switching between amps, effects, and the looper. I did not have any latency issues with my M9 whatsoever. Is this a bad unit or are the all inherently slow? Help please! Our SXSW tour is coming up soon...
