Pod HD500 plus M9 output question

Hi all,
Hoping someone out there can give me some direction. I have a project studio that I share with a drummer for recording experimental type stuff on the fly. I have a GR-55, HD500, M9, and a macbook that I am using for GuitarRig and a mellotron plugin. I have the HD500 going into the M9 and into the audio interface. The 55 is separate. My question is...I use the fx on both units but would like to be able to use the looper on the M9 on separate tracks than the HD500, but still have the option to pass guitar signal through it when not in loop mode. I have a behringer ada8000 to optically send to interface. Confused? me too. Thinking of using headphone outs to M9. Will that work while the regular 1/4" outputs are functioning?
thx.
steve
What is the audio interface? The behringer?
This may not be what your after, but a good read nontheless to expand your options.
4 Cable Method
The behringer is an ada converter (8 channels lightpipe) going into an Aleses io26 into DAW (Logic). No amp. I use the pod with an Egnater Rebel 30 using 4 cable method for live stuff with different kind of project....works great. No amp models though. I use for fx and switching variax models.
Just trying to see if I can use headphone out to the M9 while still getting output from 1/4" outs on the Pod...trying to be creative on the fly.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
