G string stopped working

I have a Variax 600 and run it with a Pod XTL using the Variax cable. At a gig a couple of weeks ago it just stopped working - no sound. Thinking the piezo crapped out, I replaced it. It worked for a few days, then crapped out again. I reflashed both the Variax and the Pod. It worked for a few days - happened again last night. This time I ran it on a battery using a 1/4" cable, that didn't help, it was still not working. I picked it up today,  and it works. As it seems completely random and unpredictable, I'm not gigging with it this weekend haha. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? thanks!

    If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that either the connection to the piezo on that string has gone intermittent or the piezo itself is intermittent and should be replaced.  You can take the unit to a service center, which would be the "official" recommendation.  However, we do offer the piezos on our store if you like to tinker.
