As the pod hd500, does the pod hd300 have variable input impedance as well?

I guess the question is pretty simple. After the 2.0 firmware update for the pod hd300, is the multieffects sensitive to different pickup's impedance?

No, the HD300 doesn't have the variable input imedance feature. Also, though, this setting has nothing to do with being sensitive to the pickup's impedance. There's no auto-sensing or anything like that. It simply changes the impedance of guitar input on the HD500. If set to auto, it makes it so the impedance matches whatever the default values for the first effect in the signal chain is.

exactly as phil said... the feature doesn't do anything for your guitar.. it only sets the impedence on the chain...
and the default used to be 1m on the 500, and still is 1m on the 300/400 as far as i know.

  I believe it loads the guitar pickups. I remember someone on this forum did a test and confirmed that the guitar pickups are effected by the impedence setting. He simply used some Y cable or not sure what else to have the guitar output into a different signal chain seperate from the POD into another amp and the sound in the other amp did change as the input impedence in the pod were changed which proved that this impedence setting effects your guitar pickups load and isn't just a software implimentation otherwise the HD300,400 would also have it..

    It's not just a software manipulation - that's correct. The impedence of the input actually changes. So, yeah, plugging your guitar into an input of a different impedance will load the pickups differently. My original point was simply that the input doesn't change automatically based on what type of pickups are plugged into it.

    different guitars with different impedences will affect your tone.. (or else there'd only be one style of pickups)
    but the pod won't detect any difference in your guitar.
