Why Line 6 don't want to solve our problem? We spent the money, we use the best OS of all, we use Line 6, and we want to record our music, but ignore us. I have toneport ux 2, I have spider IV too... But Line 6 ignore me. Maybe I should try M-Audio and Guitar Rig? I don't want to do this, but you make me do this!

I have the same issue with a Line6 Pod HD500, Moutain Lion and GarageBand '09... Crackling noise whatever I do when I try to record with the USB connection.

I created a ticket on Sunday, 2012/08/05. Line6 asked me details (Monkey Log and the summary of my iMac configuration) on Monday, 2012/08/06. I uploaded the files the same day and then, my ticket has been simply deleted by Line6 on Tuesday, 2012/08/07.

The ticket hasn't been closed, it has been simply deleted. No trace in my history, no e-mail received... It's simply a shame !!! I've never seen such a behavior !

Our issue depends maybe on a Moutain Lion bug more than a Line6 bug, but whatever it will be, this behavior is simply impossible and unforgivable.

There's a whole thread on the Apple user page from MountainLion users that are experiencing the same issues.

Only difference is, they're blaming it on OSX10.8 itself and are hoping that Apple releases 10.8.1 soon to fix the problem.

I wonder if Line 6 is thinking the same thing? If it is, then it'll be the end of August before we get a Mountain Lion update.

    This whole thing sucks.

the solution for me is to open pod farm, open Logic express 9 than close pod farm app. and then use the au plug in pod farm or other else and work all quiet fine.. but i hope line 6 fix the issue with new driver 'cause i think the problem is there..

    Hello,

Just wanted to chime in saying that we have received your inquiries and are aware of this audio issue of using our hardware as an audio interface on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

We will make and announcement when we have further info or resolution to the problem.

    Best regards,

Is there a workaround for the POD HD?? Opening HD Pro edit doesn't seem to solve the crackling issue

Re: crackling / artefacts studio gx with mountain lion

I found a repeatable  workaround that eliminates the crackle issue on my iMac and my podxt.  I open the sound settings from system preferences and review the list of input devices BEFORE powering my podxt (confirming it's not listed).  I then turn on the podxt (watch it appear), open Garageband and the crackle is gone.  If I skip the step of going to the sound input devices when I power the podxt the crackle comes back.  It adds all of 10-15 seconds to my normal routine so I can live with this until a patch comes out.  I hope this helps others with similar issues.  So far this has worked several times over for me.

I've tried this and just about every other combination/configuration I can think of with my GuitarPort, but no go.

I've found that it's definitely a problem with the input buffer. My GuitarPort works just fine if I treat it as a glorified external sound card - meaning its output is fine. It plays everything without a problem. It's the input that's the problem. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed anything similar...?

I don't know what's the most frustrating thing about this - the fact that other people's support tickets are being deleted (WHAT?) or that Mountain Lion came out 2 and a half weeks ago and Line 6 still "claims support". Are Line 6 Mac users just not upgrading to Mountain Lion, or what? Why is this not making any more noise than this one and the handful of other threads?

OMG, you're awesome! I can confirm this works for GX as well, meaning it would most likely work for UX1 etc. Good find!

the workaround for me is to boot from my external hard drive running 10.7....all the other workarounds do not work

I'm surprised too that not many Line 6 users seem to have upgraded. But then, one of the Line 6 techs that I talked to admitted that he's still running Tiger with his home setup!

A solution may be forthcoming, though. Apple has released 10.8.1 to developers (such as Line 6, we hope) and are claiming that it addresses the kind of problems we've been experiencing.

I agree adaniel87, no problems with output as a seperate sound card, only problems with input buffer. This problem is generic and can be applied when using as an input device for amplitube, revalver, etc. Workarounds are definitely not working and everything is updated to the eyeballs. Still, the crackling persists, kinda sounds like a ring modulator set to one of those weird robot settings.

This seems to be the case every time with Line 6 and new operating systems, and unique only to Line 6. My Mackie hardware has always worked fine with every update.....

    This actually works for me!

I opened POD Farm 2 created a new tone in POD Farm 2 and then opened Logic Pro 9.1.7 or GarageBand 6.0.5 and all is fine...for now.

I'm really disappointed by the so called "Support" of line 6!

ML is out for almost one month and they didn't manage to fix the issue.

Further they are not able to communicate with their customers - First it seemed like they deleted my ticket. After creating a new one they told me that they forwarded it to the US...good to know...
