line 6 pod xt

i have a pod xt, and it has a problem.. the four soft key under the screen wont work.

what should i do?

  yes, it works properply, but the four soft key is not working., but sometimes the 1st button work

      hello sir, i got a problem before because i install in my pod xt is version 1.0x. i downgraded it. and its all my fault
      
      and now i cant upgrade it to the latest version,cos i dont have a usb-midi cable.
      
      what should i do?
      if i upgrade it to the latest version? the four button will work?

        you need to get a midi cable.
        no idea if that will fix the buttons though... but one way to find out....
        you can get cheap midi cables for around 5$ on ebay.... fwiw

        only th m- audio cable can update my pod xt?? what if i use other usb midi cable?
        
        if its updated, then, the button wil work?

        you can use other midi cables... and they can work... but line6 internally tests with the m-audio uno, and so they tend to be most likely to work and therefore recommended.
        
        the only way to know if the buttons will work is to flash it....
        
        you might just call the local music shop and ask them if they can help you with it....
        they may be willing to let you use their midi cables etc....

the recommended midi to usb is m-audio midi sport.
