Guitarport Online is closing it's doors

I've received a email from Line 6 stating that Guitarport Online is closing its doors (not cool) there is a vast amount of people out there that rely on this type of instruction, when Guitarport closes its doors this will terminate access to the valued instruction as well..
That being said (Line 6 could at least offer a onetime fee to keep these files activated), not only this is good judgment on their part but this will keep people loyal.
Hopefully if the community make enough noise this may happen, if not
LINE 6 PLEASE DON’T SHUT DOWN GUITARPORT ONLINE!!
I agree the least they should do is offer a one time charge. It was a great service, tracks were well done I spent countless hours jamming to them. Really upgraded my playing as a result. I don't think there is anything to compare to. Not every artist is going to release masters for Jammit or similar services.
I still have my Pod x3 live just to use as a dongle... I guess when they did not offer guitar port with Pd Hd it was inevitable it was going to shutdown.
I realize they must not be making money on it, I will contend it was not marketed properly, it was not obvious from the face of it what it was.
No question my loyalty to line6/pod has taken a big hit
does this mean that my gearbox and all of the lessons that i downloaded from it will not work when i try to go into it?
that's what it means.... sorry.
I went from a Tabula Rasa Novice to an Advanced Beginner, which is a lot for me, thanks in large part to Line 6 on-line. I likely really need a comparable alternative to continue to make progress. Any referrals (names, links, etc) to that end ill begreatly apprecaited.
Cheers, Rudy
jammit.com, You can search youtube for some backing tracks as well
OK Thanks - I'll check them both out. I was hoping for something close to what Guitar Port on-line offered in-terms of plugged-in lessons via Gearbox.
very sad to see guitarport close it' doors started with it when it was in beta stage , It's been A very good program.
Agreed that is pretty ordinary of Line 6 there was a lot of good info there. I wonder where it now resides?

This makes me unbelievably sad. I've been using it since 2004 or 2005. ![]()
They could at least make the stuff I already have work. Seems the hundreds and hundreds of dollars should have earned me that much.
This is absolute ********. Line6 hasn't been holding up their end of the bargain for years. There haven't been new updates on any kind of regurlar basis since 2009. And every month I fork over money just so I can enjoy the track I already had. And I was happy to do it. Now they pull this? **** you, Line6. The absolute least you could do is allow users to continue to use the tracks you already created. That might make up for the money you swindled out of users like me who keep paying month after month when you had no intention on keeping your producted updated. But to just pull the plug on users who have continued to pay until the bitter end? You're a crap company. I'll never spend another dime on a Line6 product. Ever.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
