Hi, I happened on this and as I didn't find anything about it I hope someone knows something about it....
as you'll see the following amps are only for 300 and 400 users? why is that?
solo (soldano slo)
line 6 epic
line 6 doom
how come the HD300 and 400 have more amps than the 500??? I though all pod were supposed to be the same amp/FX wise
Firmware updates for the Pod HD300/400 and the Pod HD500/Desktop/Pro come at different times. There is an update for the HD500 expected soon that will add the missing amps.
thanks but "soon" doesnt mean much....![]()
i assure you that Line 6 is a profit-seeking organization and aren't sitting on the firmware upgrade just to laugh when ppl like yourself (you're not the first or last to make a thread about this) cry foul. they know the update will enhance their products, sell more units, and make more profits, and they want to make it available as soon as possible. but they also want to make sure it doesn't somehow break existing functionality or brick units, flooding their customer service lines and making them liable for a massive number of warranty claims.
just be patient - I'm sure it won't be more than another month or two at most. If 2013 comes around and the models still aren't available, then you have permission to burn the world.
lol, I'm not really complaining here, they can take their time and make sure it works good. I'm sure like you said that if it was ready there wouldnt be any point in postponing the release of the firmware upgrade...but I just wanted to know what this "soon" meant..like a matter of weeks, months or ..aeons maybe! the notion of time is all relative! ![]()

It means whatever you want it to mean. If you want it to mean days, then you are likely to be disappointed and feel that Line 6 has failed. If you want it to mean several months you will probably be pleasantly surprised and give Line 6 an 'exceeds expectation' rating.
.... and so it really means nothing. We'll get it when we get it. No point in speculating or setting any personal expectations.
.... and so it really means nothing.
man don't take it bad uh
but, in that case just say you people don't know or that you haven't been given any info yet and that's it...because "soon" means something unfortunately lol...like "fast", "quickly" ....and just for the record, etymologically it means "immediate" or "immediately"...
then you are likely to be disappointed and feel that Line 6 has failed
good one... I'm no 15 y.o brat who needs new "entertainment"...it was just out of sheer curiosity that I asked that since you mentioned it in your post... see my first post, I never asked for a date cuz it doesn't really matter to me when it comes out..next year for all I care...but again if you have no info, just be clear about it. There's no need to expatiate upon something we know nothing about...especially if you believe that what you post means nothing.
peace.
What would happen if all these expected improvements didn't appear in the new update?
I'd guess the SLO amp and whatever else the 300/400 units got in their updates will probably be added. Did the 300/400 get the EQ many people have been writing about? I don't know as I have the HD500 & HD PRO since their initial release over two years now for the HD500. I still can't understand why all these units do not have a VDI connector? But none of the Spider amps did either - so I will guess there must be a reason other than financial for this occurrence.
But what about this "Good EQ" doesn't happen? What if Line 6 thinks the EQs they have already given with % increase/decrease values are excellent as they see it and choose not to add any new other requested features? If not all expectations are achieved, does that mean the unit many have had like the gentleman posting here has been using all this time is now rendered useless or unworthy of keeping?
Just curious?
well this issue is somewhat different as you talk about something that is already there...though I agree with you that % aren't good for EQs it's nothing to do with the fact that some of the pod HD got new amp models... leaving the hd500 by the wayside...as I said previously, line6 always made it clear that all pods are equal so to speak..and so far there are (as soon as the update comes out that is)
I'd guess the SLO amp and whatever else the 300/400 units got in their updates will probably be added.
yes it will, that was what I was asking about and it's been confirmed.
If not all expectations are achieved, does that mean the unit many have had like the gentleman posting here has been using all this time is now rendered useless or unworthy of keeping?
if you buy a unit on the sole premise that it will (one day) be update and will (perhaps) eventually be updated to be the way you want it to be...then you have a screw loose lol
if you believe the unit is useless, the few updates that Line6 have release won't change your mind...so you'll be better off selling/trading it for something else
but you're drifting away..what you're talking about is another matter altogether and it has very little (if anything at all) to do with my first post that was about making sure Line6 didn't change their mind about all 3 PODs offering the same content.
so ..the SLO has finally arrived ![]()
Well, no need to wait anymore
The 3 new amps have finally reached our HD500s. So, let's see what happens now ![]()
