Simulating Micawber - ignore 6th string

Does anyone know how to set up a tuning on my JTV-59 to "ignore" a string? I want to emulate Micawber, Keith Richards 5-string tele and set up an open-G tuning but have the low-E string ignored so if I catch it, the modelling software will just discard any signal from the low-E string. This will simulate only having 5-strings and I wouldn't have to worry about muting the 6th string or accidentally catching it.

I was curious to see what someone came up with. I think with Workbench you can just turn down the gain/volume of the string and you have it. Let me know if that answers your question.

Unfortunately, this cannot be done at the moment.

The strings volumes can be set using Workbench, but that is an overall setting and not per patch. It would be equivalent to just taking the string off the guitar.

Hopefully Line 6 might add a per patch string volume setting in the future, which would also help with acoustic vs different electric types.

    David.

I have thought about this too, and my solution (that I have not tried yet) is to tune the low E string up to G instead of D.  You end up with two open Gs on the 5th and 6th strings, so that if you do hit the 6th string, assuming you bar all the way across, it will just be in unison with the 5th string
