What is the best setup for my Dream Rig

Hi all,
I'v got my dream rig complete last january, but i'm still struggling to find the best setup for my situation.
I started off having a 'JTV => POD HD500 => PA => In-Ear as monitor' setup. (Since i also do alot of singing we started using In-Ear.) With the output mode on the HD500 set to Studio/Direct i've gotten great results.
But I still found myself craving for a real amp. So i went for the DT25 212. Great sound, but now i had to set up my rig:
1)
JTV => HD500 => L6 Link => DT => Cabinet simulated Direct Out => PA => In Ear
This is the most suggested setup i've seen on the forums. For Acoustic patches the Send FX is mostly suggested and the output mode on the HD500 set to Combo PWR Amp. But at rehersals i would like to use the LVM. But the signal which goes via Cabinet simulated Direct Out is very weak. I have to allmost max the mastervolume to get a normal signal at the PA. When turning to a live setup this way, i have turn down the mastervolume way back. Switching between rehersals and preformances we're always struggling to get the correct gain for the channel at the PA. Is there a way to solve this problem? Our bassist got an Direct Out on his amp where the master volume doesn't have any effect on the volume of the direct Output. Is there any setup possible to have the same with the JTV - HD500 - DT25 combo?
2)
JTV => HD500 => XLR-Out => PA => In-Ear
HD500 => L6 Link => DT25
This is another setup i could think of. The idea is that via this setup, I wouldn't have to send acoustic patches via de Send FX and that i don't have any volume issues between rehersals and preformances. At rehersals i could just play without the DT25 and live with the DT25. But when you set the output mode of the HD500 to Studio/Direct it has influences the sounds and volume behaviour. When i balance the volumes between serval patches via the XLR out, the volume between patches coming out of the DT25 are totally out of balance. Is there a way to balance out volumes in this setup? Is there a better output mode on the HD500?
Anyone some suggestions or other working rig setups?
I'm thinking about getting the "dream rig" and was planning to do the "JTV => POD HD500 => PA => In-Ear as monitor setup..." You said you got great results, so why still craving for a real amp? I'm thinking about doing away with the amp (although it would be a DT25 if I got one), and maybe buying a Line 6 Stagesource pa tower to give me clean electric and acoustic sounds. What do you think about that approach?
Thanks,
Kevin
