kb37 with Logic 9.1.7 and Mountain Lion (10.8)

I have a major problem since I updated to Mountain Lion: Audio through a Microphone (plugged in my kb37 in Microphone Input 1) produced nothing but distorted sound. I can hear my voice somewhere in the background, but the distortion predominates. Interesting: the problem isn’t there, if I change the buffer size. First: Clear sound, than after a few seconds the same distortion – no matter what size I choose!
Before Mountain Lion there was crystal clear Microphone sound and didn’t change anything concerning plugins or else, so this problem must have something to do with Mountain Lion and Logic. I updated all the new Line 6 drivers and software, of course – still distortion!
Interesting: If I open the Pod Farm 2 Standalone, the mic sound is perfect! It’s only Logic!
Please help.
I have the exact same problem after upgrading to mountain lion
. Anyone know what to do?
I have the extact same problem and if i have tried to change the midi setting in adui minid setup it play clear for a few seconds the goes bad.
Hello,
Just wanted to chime in saying that we have received your inquiries and are aware of this audio issue of using our hardware as an audio interface on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
We will make and announcement when we have further info or resolution to the problem.
Best regards,
Line6Hugo
Guys, I found solution. Go to Preferences -> Audio and there change I/O Buffer Size. In my case worked 512. Hope it works for you ![]()
I have tried all the io buffer setting and still get the same issue
Maybe try different buffer options
I'm having the same noise problem with a UX1 (driver version 7.1.7) with Logic Pro 9.1.7 and GarageBand 6.0.5.
The UX1 works great with Guitar Rig 5.1.0 (Standalone), Kontact 5.0.3 (Standalone), iTunes and any or all system playback.
Here's a quick test that confirms this problem for me:
This system is my first Mac and it's only 1 day old. Brand new, out of the box, custom ordered from Apple.
Hey I have the same problem with ux1.. and there is still no update.. any solution? Something thatight have worked for you!!
the same here, some kinda "pink sound",
any thing found to mend ?

Hiya, best thing to do is just wait for Line 6 to release a new driver for Mountain Lion users.
I'm in the exact same predicament, ordered my Mac about a week before Mountain Lion came out, and my old interface (Novation Nio) worked completely fine with it. And after I upgraded to Mountain Lion, it stopped working. I saw that Novation was in no rush whatsoever to release a new driver, so I sold it and bought a KB37 this weekend.
I knew that the driver hadn't been released yet, but I know that it's being worked on, which is better than not knowing ![]()
Hopefully this helps!
I too have that problem, but im also having problems with the Monkey and update .. it Dosent show my KB37 ( Toneport ) only Podxt
THX Hugo.. hope you fix the bugs soon.
Hey there,
Same problem here. Do you guys have any news about this?
I've exactly the same problem.
i cant believe the bloody driver is not out yet.. i spent a lot of money on this thing and i like my 10,8,1 so i really dont feel like step back to lion.. its just ridicoulus ML is been out since 2 months already and still not a drastic solution..
OK.. The new driver was released and it didn't fix my problems.
The cracking/poping noise was still appearing during the recordings. It was a big noise and then it cracked for 10 seconds and then stopped. Then it haeppened again and again. I opened a ticket suport for this which is still opened without resolution.
This week my Toneport UX1 gave a new trick: when I connect it to my macbook it goes green for a minute, but the sound of the instrument/mic is zero. Also my USB mouse goes away.
After a minute or two, the light simply goes red and the line 6 device is no longer recognized by the Mac OS X. When I go to Line6 Audio Devices on System Preferences it says "no line 6 product connected".
Please, am I the only one? I'm getting preety tired with this story. This time I'm thinking really serious about buying another product. Can't record anything since Mac 10.8.2 came out.
Ok, I have an open suport ticket about since Sep. 21.
Today I updated with this message:
"Hugo,
On my behalf and of other customers, I want to ask you and Line6 to put the situation on this problem on the topics related. Everyday I see new people complaining and you guys never show up to tell us what this big problem is. It won't take more than 10 minutes of your day to give a status of this solution. Please, transparency is the only thing that could relieve this tension.
I suggest that you tell us about:
- What happened? What does your team know about this incompatibility? Is there something that Apple could do to help? How big is this thing?
- How many employees do you have working on this and how much time/day?
- Is there something we could do to help?
- What is the kind of assistant that Line6 will provide in case of not fixing this?
The topics that are discussing about this subjects are:

Please answer us. Talk to us. It's been more than 3 months. The first topic about this same problem is from JULY! We demand transparency and conversation.
Thank you,
Pedro"
I hope this will help at least about the conversation beetween Line6 and us.
Greetings from Brazil.
Not sure if this kind of thing might apply but this is the way I got around this problem with the UX1....

Hey guys, I'm coming to say goodbye! Thanks a lot for the company these months. I'm moving to a new device, new life. It's been more than 6 months without a minute recorded without those explosion in my ear and I got pretty tired of it.
Hope you guys make a little money to escape from this too.
Here is the end of my suport ticket that was opened on Sep 21th:
DEAR HUGO,
Didn't work.
First when I tried to update using Monkey the app was shuting down (tried to reboot the system a lot times...) I'm sending it atached.
Then I installed the new driver. Recorded for 5 minuts and then it exploded once again with that big noise that goes fading away in 30 seconds. After it's gone when I say something on the mic it has a little pop too.
And this was the end of the line for me. The end of Line6 2. I'm really impressed with the **** support you and your crew gave me and the other users.
Not only took more than 6 months to release a new driver but there was the lack of transparency and the absence of true information for us.
You may shut this support ticket down because I'm throwing this device on the trash now. I'll never buy Line6 products and will try to tell everyone about this pleasant story we had.
So long, thanks for nothing.
Hi
I just want to add that I am also having problems. I have a KB37 and a Logic Pro 9 and get distortion on the signal from the intrument input. Similarly to other comments, I don't get any problems in PodFarm standalone. I only started getting the noise when I upgraded to a new Mac Mini, which came with Mountain Lion. I was dismayed when it started and I found several threads like this one on this site and others. Given that this was reported in August and it is now February with no fix (and yes, I am using the latest drivers).
Like many of the other contributors, I am having to consider finding another audio interface so that I can get on with recording, instead of trying to work around your problems. It would be a shame to lose PodFarm itself, but to be honest, it's not as unique as it was when I got the KB37 originally, and I dare say I'll find a replacement for that without too much trouble...
It's sad that Line 6 can't get this sorted, since I like the KB37 but I can't really wait much longer for a fix that might never come
