Mobile in wishlist thread

Mobile In sounds very good and it's easy to use but for live only because you can`t record nothing with Mobile POD app.

I hope that we can have recording button or even better if we have multitrack recorder for Mobile Pod so we can record guitar riff ideas, make music with it and export recordings to multitrack daw.

Easy to use? Have you tried using Mobile In on an iPhone? Now that's a laugh... To be honest I'm surprised they haven't given the customers their money back or came out with a MAJOR update yet... Good suggestion though

      Re: Mobile in wishlist thread

I picked up my Mobile In yesterday and used it in a jam session last night.  I had to tape it to my ipad to keep it from falling out.  My ipad is Gen3 and is only a few months old.  All my other Apple connectors are solid.

The weakest part I found is the Apple connector they use.  It is a very loose connection.  Mobile In can barely stay in when mounted on the side, and will not hold its own weigh with cable when mounted on the bottom. I spotted this issue at the store and tried a few of them.  The connection were all the same... WEAK.  This needs to be corrected ASAP and existing Mobile In's should be replaced with ones that can stay in under normal load.

I picked up a mobile in when it first came out...

    what a complete turd.

the software was weak, the interface was weak...

the tone was passable, but not worth the limitations imposed on it by the software and the interface!

I always hoped that it would evolve into something more...

the jammit app helps, but came a little too late to take away the bad taste for me.

My wishlist item for the Mobile-In: make it unnecessary. I am sure the Mobile-In is fine... but I have these interfaces falling out of my ears. Plug, LiNK, Guitar Jack 2....

Charge for the MobilePOD.... and I will buy it. Guaranteed. Keep it dependent on the Mobile-In... I will not. Guaranteed.

    My wishlist items:

    1. Bass Amps! Even one or two would be ok.

    2. Stereo processing ... I would like to use the stereo Line in with my Chapman Stick and process the bass side and treble side separately.

    3. I'd love (and would pay!!!)  to be able to use my POD XT Live resets on the Mobile POD and vice versa.

    4. Not sure why the volume and wah are included. Would rather see some other effects like pitch shifter, distortion/fuzz pedals and more options with the compressor.

    Thanks,

    PZ

      Hello Chris

      Can you discus existing products?

Is mobile pod going to be updated to support record and copy/paste audio?

Is audio bus also going to be supported?

Not having a record function within mobile pod seriously compromises the use of it as mobile creative tool.

Pleased to read though its compatible with iPhone 5 :-)

Ah, thanks for pointing that out -- actually no, in general we're unable to discuss unannounced app updates either… and we're really sorry about that, too!  What I can say is that we're totally aware of the issues you list there.  That, and that there's even more good news on the compatibility front (if you haven't already heard): In addition to iPhone 5, the Apple branded Lightning-to-30-pin adaptors also let Mobile In work with iPad with Retina Display, iPad Mini, and iPod touch 5G.  And while iPod touch 4G owners still can't use Mobile In, the new tone auditioning feature does work for them now.

Chris, having all that good news about mobile in being compatible, in my opinion is worthless without some reassurance that to whoever has bought and is thinking of buying it ,that line6 who markets itself as being a manufacturer of creative music products IS going to address the fundamental issues that users have brought to your attention.  It has the potential to be a fantastic addition to the mobile recording market, the lack of response on the behalf of line6 makes this situation all the more frustrating.

One feature I would like to see among what has already been said about connector stability is compatibility with Bluetooth headsets.  Makes for one less set of leads when using. Any idea if this is being seriously considered by Line6 development people?  I am using with iPhone 5 which has shifted the headset jack to the bottom of the phone next to the lightning jack...

Actually we have looked at this area quite intensively.  It turns out that Bluetooth audio streaming adds latency that you don't even notice in a phone call, but you really wouldn't like it for guitar playing.  Other audio output streaming technologies like AirPlay have similar issues, only with more extreme delays.  This is unfortunate since the convenience would be great, but these technologies aren't very well suited to realtime musical performance.

    Re: Mobile in wishlist thread

Certainly the easiest and cheapest way for us to record guitar would be audiobus implementation. Recording on ios devices is huge these days. This app isn't ideal for live setup as the mobile in falls out of the jack too easily. Set up in a nice controlled environment it would work well for recording but as it exists right now, it's like demo software. You play around with it but can,t do too much with it that's practical. Please get us audiobus support.

    Re: Mobile in wishlist thread

I am a longtime line6 fan with an original POD, a Flextone III amp, FBV footboard controller, the full Pod Farm 2 software suite, a KB37 keyboard interface, and the MobileIn + MobilePOD package which I run on multiple iPad / iPhone combinations.

The Amp and effects models paired with the Mobile In digital link delivery simply the best sound quality out there. If you put on a pair of serious headphones and compare the sound quality of the Mobile In to iRig or similar competitors, it is literally a joke how much better line 6 sounds.

That said, I am with the group here. I have been patiently waiting for the ability to record into Garage Band or similar DAW solutions. Without that support, Mobile In is just a toy, and all those amp models are nothing more than time killers.

Now that audiobus has arrived, I am shocked that Line 6 hasn't released support or at least commented that its coming. The SDK for audiobus is open source for cryin out loud! There is no excuse for this.

That, plus the weak pin connector that is constantly falling out make mobile in basically just a waste of great software and a novelty.

    1. Support audiobus.

    2. fix the connector pin and you will have a runaway best seller.

    3. add a few bass amps and replace the volume and wah pedals with additional effects.

Now you have a runaway market leader in this exploding mobile recording space.

Come on guys, you are so close to perfection - make it happen!

Scmalcolm, re the weak connector have you tried it with a 32 pin cable attached to phone?  Solves the problem of it coming loose for me.

The line 6 support for this product is quite frankly attrocious!!  I have sent support tickets also about this problem and they have as yet chosen to ignore all reasonable questions about this product.
