How to voice morphing with UX2 anyone?

I purchased the ux2 for its low latency as the AV voice changer is a piece of garbage when it comes to latency.

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the pitch or anything else I could do to change my voice while using a microphone in pod farm?  I don't have a mac so I can't use garageband.

    Hi,

     

       I think you are wanting to be able to do it just with Pod Farm - Is that right? You could have a go with some of the effects in Pod Farm like the ones in the mods section or the other sections too but in that one there are a few that can make the voice etc. move around a bit. Unfortunately I don't think there is a pitch shift as such within Pod Farm.

     

    If you have a recording programme which allows plugins, then you can try a pitch shifter plugin and delays etc. There might be a delay though with the latency, so that may not really help with live stuff, but one way of doing it might be to get a recording programme (there are free ones out there to test - some with some limitations but practically fully functional. I use Zynewave Podium - there is a free version and a version to buy) and you could do something like the following -all without recording - just live sound:

     

    Set it up to take the input from the ux2 and go to one track. then you could have the sound from that track go directly to maybe 2 other tracks - one fully left and the other fully right. Then you could put a pitch shifter plugin like http://www.rs-met.com/software/freebies/PitchShifter_v0.5.zip on each of those two tracks. Then adjust one to go slightly down in pitch and the other to go slightly higher in pitch (however much you like) and turn the volume of the first track down, and have the other two up (a bit below the volume of pod farm standalone version probably) to blend with your live pod farm standalone sound which could have different effects too. This way, you will still get the good latency version from Pod Farm standalone, and the possibly delayed sound from the other tracks, giving you a 'bigger' sound, and the delay (depending on the latency involved) will add to the depth of it without losing the ability of being able to hear your voice at the right time too. You could add a delay on one or two of the tracks too.

     

    I'm not sure if I have deliberately tried it this way, so I'm not sure what the latency etc. is like. I've only tried adding the pitch shift after, on recorded tracks.

     

    Maybe someone else has some standalone effects settings that give a good effect live.

      Thank you very much for your reply David.  I wonder if ableton live would help?  It seems that there's a lot to know about this program.  There was a guy using garageband that had some live effects but as I am pc only I am out of luck. 

       

      I will explore your suggestions.  I've got just enough computer strength left to play borderlands 2 wit my son and then I can have a go at this wonderful sound stuff later.

       

      If anyone else has any ideas about voice morphing and pitch effects that would be grand.

        I haven't used Ableton live but I think it should probably do it. Yeah, recording programmes take a bit of learning and it can seem hard but after a while of going back and forth to the manual etc. and trying different things, you can achieve good things and then not have to look up the manual again till you have a need for something else. For a while I was doing a load of roundabout things to do a certain thing and then I looked at the manual and found there was a shortcut It gives you a moment of 'all this time I've been doing this this way' but then you enjoy the new ability, so that makes up for it. A lot of the hard work is done when first using a programme, because you have to set things up and then work out how to make various things work, but once thats done, you'll hopefull;y never have to set things up again and you'll soon remember how to do the things to make it work.
