HD 500 troublesome feedback levels

Hi All,

Have the POD HD500, current firmware and everything, running it into the effects loop of my main amp Egnater Vengeance and sometimes a small Blackstar HT5 combo practice amp.

I am using a number of tones dloaded from customtonea and have volume level matched all presets per instructions by adjusting mixer levels, panning, and amp channel volumes.  Doing all this at gig volume level for my amp...about 9 O'clock on the master volume of my amp.

My HD500 (as instructed) master vol is full on.

My guitar is an Ibanez Jem 7VWH.  No matter how close or far I get from my amp if I take my hands off the strings I get awful earsplitting feedback..sometimes it comes on quickly other times it takes a few seconds.  Some of the patches are high gain, some or more crunch type.  I can't seem to figure out what is causing this.

Any suggestions?  I am now gigging out and it will become a big problem, for now I'm addressing it by ensuring volume pedal is active in all patches but this isn't ideal either.  I have to believe its the patches or perhaps there is a wiring problem with my pickups on the Jem, though I just bought it brand new and had it professionally setup so I doubt its that.  If I go don't use the POD and simply go guitar - amp...regardless of gain or volume setting no unwanted feedback.

Welcome any suggestions you might be able to offer.  Settings:  Global - Stack Power Amp, 1/4" Out = Amp, Line - PAD

Best,

Dazzl
