Here's a Green Day cover I recorded live off the board last weekend. The Dreadnaught Model is unprocessed.
Thanks for that! ![]()
The strangest thing just happened to me...
I have been feeling down this morning because I am having trouble with some real acoustic guitar tracks I recorded last week. I am not happy with the tone, and feel like the guitars don't sound as good as they should. And then I was doing e-mails and things, and your post (above) came in and I went to Reverbnation to play it. While it was playing, I went to the kitchen to make some tea while I listened, and found myself thinking again about my frustrations with acoustic guitars, and then suddenly noticed that the acoustic guitar on your track sounds really good. I totally forgot what I was listening to, and began asking myself I wonder what acoustic guitar is being used in the track and why can't any of my acoustic guitars sound that good...?
And then I remembered. I was listening to you playing your JTV. That's totally awesome.
So thanks for your part in that. You've helped give me some perspective and encouragement. It is almost time for me to get a JTV. My Variax 600 is great for electric sounds but the acoustic models are certainly nothing compared to the current acoustic models in the JTV. I simply must prioritize this upgrade. I wish more than ever that my JTV had come through a year ago when I was waiting for it and had the funds available. Several guitars later, my money is tight and I don't know when I can afford to acquire a JTV. But you have given me a bunch more incentive to make it happen.
zeddd. Your words are very encouraging to me. One more detail. I don't use a pick. I use my thumb and fingers.
Nice job! You guys sound great.
I just thought I'd add for anyone else looking that the song is "Good Riddance (Live at Speal's Tavern)".
Forgive my ignorance if "dreadnaught" should have been enough, but exactly which model is this? (Gibson, Martin D-28 or Martin O-18?)
Lindsayward - Thanks for the kind words. I use the D-18 setting. for future reference - the "D" stands for dreadnaught:)
Thanks for the reply and reference: I hadn't noticed D stood for anything.
It might just be a typo, but I think you've mixed two model numbers in your post. There's an O-18 and a D-28: http://line6.com/jtv-59/features#29amazinginstrumentsinone
OOps. You are correct. D-28.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
