POD HD500 4 cable question.

I wonder if anyone can assist.

I am using the 4 cable method as I have with my previous multi fx pedals.    I am using 2 different amps and having the same issue.

I would liek to be able to use the pre amps of the amps on certain sounds and the amp models on someothers but I am finding massive volume differences. Has any else experienced this?

I am using a Cornford mk 50 head   and a 6505+112 combo  dependant which gigs I am playing.

Is there someway of balancing these things out? I didn't seem to have this issue with my previous pedals.   I love the HD500 but I do need things to be consistent.

Thank you in advance.

Re: POD HD500 4 cable question.

Some of the amp models are VERY quiet, e.g. AC30 Preamp and  cannot compete with some real pre-amps.

The way I balance them out with 4CM is to set the loop on the amp to instrument/stomp level (-10dBV) and the 1/4" Output on the Pod to Line level (+4dBu).  This is a mismatch but has the effect of boosting up the level on the POD output significantly.  You must now use the mixer or similar to cut down the level of the 'real' pre-amps but should have plenty of headroom to get the quietest modelled amps into play.  Not sure if this is possible on the Cornford and Peavey but is worth a look.

This is discussed in more detail within my doc here --> http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2522
