POD HD500 pedal calibration

Recently I updated the Flash Memory to v1.40 and thereafter I performed a global settings reset.
Then I performed a re-calibration of the expression pedal.
In the firs time when I pressed the C switch to check the values the “toe” position reached 255, but the “heel” position don't reached 0, but 5.
Then I performed a new global settings reset and tryed to re-calibrate the expression pedal again.
This time, pressing the C switch the “toe” position value is ok, but the “heel” position value reached no less than 33.
Then I repeated the re-calibration process several times, but the “heel” position value never reaches “0” but only marks 32 or 33 instead of zero.
How I solve this?
If anyone can help I thank you in advance.
Edit: I performed the pedal calibration following the instructions in this link:
I solved the issue by myself.
If anyone want to know how I did it, please ask me!!
Please let me know....i faced the same issue today.
Thanks
I removed the bottom cover and remove the sensor board and cleaned the sensor with a soft paper handkerchief.
The two central screws don't need to be removed, because they support a zig-zag bar that works like a reinforced pilar.
Thanks, Jerkon. This solved my pedal calbration issue also. I was having the same symptom - heel position wouldn't go below about 30-35.
I was a bit cautious about doing this because technically it could void the warrant, but the procedure was very simple. Just remove the 6 screws along the top and bottom edge of the back cover. Then slide the cover left or right to get it beyond the edges of the chassis for easy removal.
The sensor board was also easy to remove carefully - two screws.
I used a paper towel to clean both the exposed white disc on the pedal and the two sensors on the underside of the board.
Problem solved.
good find.... just looking for this... mine hits 24 everytime, tried 4 times before looking...
seems like a design flaw to me... you really shouldnt need to do this.. especially since it was brand new and has never left my desk... oh well.... i end up opening everything i own anyways, why should my pod be any different! lol
my problem is little different.the pedal scaled value stuck to 0 in toe and heel position, nothing chenged when i mov the pedal.and what about warrenty?if i open my pod is there any seal to be broken????
guys guys after facing that problem i kept my pod in rest for allmost 36hr in a gig bag.i just now opend it to check on it.i just runed the pedal caleberation and god knows it perfectlly moved scaled value 0-255.tnx to god for this time.but how to make sure that it don't happend again.do i still have to open my pod and clean it??
i like to mention that when i brought my pod it had lower flash virson so i update through line6 monkey.i faced that same problem before.and that problem solved just like now.that time i kept my pod rest for almost 24hr.so do i still have to open and clean the sensor ??
No - I would not open it to clean the sensor unless the problem re-appears. For now it seems you are OK.
hmm..tnx silverhead for your opinion
I did what you said but it did not work for me ... It is like the volume/wha pedal does not work... always in 0 status.... even doing the global reset, update flash and trying to calibrate the pedal...
Would you have any ideas for me.. i am almost trying what one of our friends said. Keep it for about three days or some to see if it gets back...
Even Line6 team does not know what happens... how come?
THank you anyway...
It sounds to me like your HD500 pedal needs servicing at an authorized service centre:
http://line6.com/service_centers/
The fact that the reading is always 0 suggests a problem with detecting pedal movement at all - not just at the upper/lower range limits. If firmware reinstall and pedal calibration attempts show no change in behaviour I suspect an internal hardware problem.
i faced tthe padle proble again.and tis time it never get normal after resting the unit for day.i give it to seller for replacement.they said it can't be replaced.go for repair.now they saying wait we will send it to company.@silverhead do you know that can i get any service from india?although india have a service center/distributer at Mumbai.are they gona replace it or what??
I suggest you open a support ticket to work directly with Line6 on this. See the Support tab at the top of this page.
My HD500 is experiencing the same issue (the heel position not registering below 30-35). I tried cleaning the white disc and two sensors with a paper towel as described: now it registers a minimum of 24. This indicates to me that the cleaning may have slightly improved it, but not solved it completely.
Any recommendations? I could try cleaning more vigorously with a lint-free cloth. Would using acetone to clean the sensors be safe (as it would be for cleaning other small electronic components)?
Just wanted to follow up and mention that my minimum value is now registering at zero after my initial cleaning, even though at first it only showed a marginal improvement. Not sure why it went from better to working having only cleaned it once and done nothing between the two tries, but I'm not really complaining.
I definitely recommend trying the sensor cleaning method, and thanks to all who suggested it!
My pedal is not working ... how did you solve your problem?
Thank you... demetriojulio@hotmail.com...
which country u from daviddemetrio ??i think u have no other option beside giving it to repair
I suggest that you instead of down the heel position of the pedal normally, pull the upper part of the pedal (toe) with the right hand to do the correct calibration.
By this way it may works.
