External foot switching?

Hi

Does anyone know if its possible to use a footswitch on the Pod HD 500 to control an external device such as selecting between my Seymour Duncans` 2 amp channels?

I have seem the 4 lead method when using an amp but that still does`nt change between the 2 channels.

Or am i missing something?

Richard, Wales .

I think you would have to use MIDI out of the HD500 to trigger a MIDI relay switch. Something like this would work.

mlong is correct.  There is no built in switching system within the HD series but there is Midi.  A device such as the one suggested would allow you to switch channels.  Some amps such as the JVM have MIDI built in for switching but I do not know whether that is a feature of the SD Amps.

The four cable method does not help with switching of channels on the amp.  However, you can use it to switch between the current channel on your amp and a modelled amplifier on the HD.

it'd be mountains easier just to run a seperate footswitch to your amp

    <--- captain obvious.

moral of the story, just because you can do something... doesn't make it worth it.

i'm sure you simply have different needs than i do, and it's all good... just best not to overlook the simple solutions

(Cough! ....  Boss GT Range .... Snuffle ....)

Anything that prevents footswitch-dancing mid-song is worth its weight but it is the usual swings and roundabouts.   The HD series loses a comparitive point on this one but scores higher in other areas.
