When Opening Pro Tools 10 I get the following message:
The selected ASIO Audio Device Could Not Be Initialized.
Please Choose Another Device.
It stops when loading Plug-ins with message ASIO POD HD 500
Pro Tools will not open, any ideas, fixes etc. Don't want to uninstall my POD HD 500 on this computer.
I needed to download a program called asio4all at asio4all.com
No problem now with the POD software (Never Was)
I thought thee POD came with ASIO drivers
ASIO4ALL, is horrible reverse engineered "fake" ASIO drivers... they somewhat work... but you can't rely on any of the reported latency numbers etc...
the line6 ASIO drivers will offer the best experience, once you get it setup and working.
+1 Zap. Asio4all effectively wraps your real (non-ASIO) drivers with an ASIO-compliant layer. If your original drivers were high latency then so are your wrapped drivers. Plus whatever latency overheads Asio4all adds.
Asio4all is fine and dandy when you absatively posolutely need to use ASIO and there are no real ASIO drivers available for your device. If real drivers are available .... and they are for the HD series .... then you are best advised to put the effort into figuring out the problem and using the real drivers.
Can I ask, have you downloaded and installed the drivers from this site? Current latest version for Windows is here --> http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4791
