Morley Optical Volume Pedal (not +) as exp2 having issues (HD500)

I have an HD500 into a DT50 via L6 link. Today I bought a
I run the output of the pedal to exp 2. Nothing on the input. The pedal is detected and works but..
No matter how broadly I set the parameters for mix, vol, wah, etc it will only move the value between 15-20 of the lowest set parameter.
Is it a pedal limitation? I read somewhere on here that Morley's work for HD500 purposes.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Q: Which external expression pedals can I use with the POD HD500?
A: We recommend using the Line 6 EX-1 or the Mission Engineering EP1-L6 expression pedals. You can also use any other expression pedal containing a 10k Ohm Potentiometer. Expression pedals allow you to change stompbox controls using your feet so you can adjust the sound while you play. On the fly, you can modify the length of your delay time, dial up the reverb mix, or change the depth of your tremolo, or anything you program the expression pedal to control on the POD HD500.
The Morley Volume pedal is not the same as an expression pedal. Guitar volume pots are generally in the region of 250K to 1M and the volume pedal would be similar. Also, the internal wiring is different.
Morley do not see fit to publish any specs for this pedal (that I can find at their site) but I think it is doubtful that it would work. Where did you see the spec saying that it was?
Also, there is presently no way to calibrate external expression pedals on the POD.
Great! Can anyone reccomend me a tried and true pedal not neccessarily dependant of the Line6 brand?
I haven't tried it but go into your music store with your HD Pod and try the Ernie Ball Volume Pedal. It's built like a tank. BUT the potentiometer is 250k as opposed to the 10k Line 6 recommends. I guess you could try every one they've got. This one is 10k

but it 'sho is expensive.
For the record, the Ernie Ball pedal people use with the Line 6 stuff is the 25K active version, not the 250K passive version. It's closer to the 10K, but it still not in spec. People have mixed results with it.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
