Change Mobile POD presets with MIDI?

Hey,

 

I like the Mobile POD app better than the other ones I have been looking at, as the amp selection and sounds seem to be superior.

 

I want to use my iPad to play live with my band. But I need to be able to use a MIDI foot controller to change between presets.


I was wondering if anybody knew whether Mobile POD was MIDI enabled?

 

Has anyone tried using this live? Is it workable?

    I should also ask: will I be able to get digital audio output from the iPad somehow?

     

    I don't want to go out of the headphone jack, as this mangles the audio quality.

    Hi Karl –

     

    Glad to hear you're liking Mobile POD.  Sorry, currently Mobile POD doesn't respond to MIDI messages in any way, including not responding to bank and program change messages to select presets.  Currently the headphone output is the best way to get acceptable-latency audio output from an iOS device, and actually the audio output quality on the 1/8" jack isn't as bad as you might expect.  The audio INPUT on the 1/8" jack is very very terrible, but the output's a different story.

     

    Your interest in getting a better quality audio output is definitely noted, though!
