Hi people...just an idea..purchased a POD HD400 yesterday..like it...BUT...i think the layout of the edit softwhare sux....i think line 6 should update all HD300 and HD400 Edit software to the same layout as the HD500 software..i mean its only editing software..not sum whiz bang plugin. And what...because sum people cant afford to get the flagship HD500..does that mean they should miss out on a better GUI...hmmmmmmmm...i dont think so.....Look after your customers with little things like this line 6..you might get more repeat clientel...Does any one think the same???
Obviously not...pmsl...guess im the lone soldier...cool by me![]()
i own a 300, 500, and a bean... the software all seems samey samey to me.... so not sure what your gripe is...
but sometimes the different layout is just to work with the different features.
I'm not sure what you are expecting people to say.
Even the HD500 Edit software isn't the greatest out there.
I get that you dont like the software design for your product but like anything. We are happy then we see the next best thing then we wish we had it. You should have been on this page when the hd300 folks got the SLO patches before the 500 folks. It was crazy! Anyway, I have spent more time away from the edit software so im comfortable with the pedal if i need to tweek things when im giging. Not as easy on my eyes that now need glasses but, I know this unit up and down now. Line 6 always seems to have a little something for their past clients from time to time but soon enough we will all own antiquated gear.
Good Luck

My GRIPE...is the layout...i mean there are no FX..AMPS..MIXER..CONTROLLER..and SET LIST tabs on the HD400 edit software like there is on the HD500 edit software...my Question is why not? This mite sound petty..but i work in my home studio, and a good GUI means alot to me. Just dont see why line 6 would not apply the same edit software layout across the board for all pod HD devices ..thats all

sounds like the best reason in the world to spend a few bucks and get the hd500 or even pro since apparently that's what you want.
Maybe i should have just got the hd bean...seems the edit software is exactly the same as the hd500..lol..oh well..you live and learn..think i'll stick with my X3 Pro...and sell the hd400..still think the X3 Pro is line 6's best hardware/software combo in my opinion...thanx for the input guyz.
