Variax interface with HD500

I hope this is an easy question for someone.  I can get my HD500 to recognize magnetic pickups versus the piezo models, but I can not get it to recall the correct guitar model.  Is there something in set up that is incorrect?  It always defaults to whatever the knob on my JTV-59 is set to (but it will turn it on or off).  Thoughts?  Thanks.

    First of all, you ned to be using the HD500 VDI connection to your Variax. Given that, the setting you are looking for is the Varaiax Control setting in the Setup pages. You need to change it from 'Don't Force' to the desired Variax model, then Save the preset. This is also where you can assign an alternate tuning to the preset if you wish. It's all in the Mixer tab in HD500 Edit.
