Line 6 Edit error on tones.

Hi, I am new to the POD family and this is my first time messing around with Line 6 Edit.
Last night I came accross an error whenever I would try to load a new tone (from CustomTone) into my Line 6 Edit software. Whenever I tried to open the .l6t file, it would say that the file was either corrupt or the wrong file type. I know it's not the wrong file type, so what's the matter?
If it helps, I did notice that if I tried to load a tone that was made before early November 2008, it would work.
I could load the tone dgy metal rythm.l6t which was made on Nov 3, 2008. But when I tried to load another tone from Nov 26, 2008 it gave me the error. Any year after '08 seems to not work. I find this odd.
Thanks in advance.
the l6t file type covers alot of ground... and you will have incompatible tones...
most notably tones that were modified using pod farm2, as the fx chain is not compatible with alot of older devices.
That helps actually! But looking through thousands of tones just to find out all of them are made after nov of 2008. So far after countless pages, of tones and only 3 are ones I can use. Is there an easier way to find tones through date or is there another format I should use? Anything that could make this a little easier?
you might try using gearbox instead of edit... and also make sure that your pod is up to date...
you should have an easier time than you seem to be having...
+1 to Zap.
You haven't mentioned which POD you have. If it is a POD 2.0, then you are limited to Line 6 Edit. If it is a POD XT, then you could use Line 6 Edit, but you will have an easier time, and more tone availability using GearBox.
i saw the pod xt tag, and assumed it was an XT, but certainly let us know, since it does make a difference.
I am using a Pod XT live. I'll try using Gearbox for a while. Thank you for your help.
