What operating system are you using?  Have you installed Line 6 Monkey?  With some o/s, there have been issues on Monkey recognizing the FBV plugged into the computer - disabling Firewalls and anti-virus software sometimes works.  Sometimes it is necessary to uninstall all the Line 6 software you have - and delete all the Line 6 files that are still left on your harddrive, then re-install everything.
