James Tyler string/sound drop out problem

Playing a gig last night and my JTV59 suddenly sounded like there was a dodgy lead somewhere and then the top E and B cut out altogether. I swapped to a 300 to finish the gig so my X3 live and variax cable are fine.

Any ideas?

The sadle piezos for those strings might be dirty or damaged. Not sure how to clean that.

  It's not that - I think the latest firmware may be buggy - I have rolled back to 1.8 and the Variax is behaving well - played another gig with no problems
