Pod 2.0 is currently busy

Trying to connect Pod 2.0 to (now a third two year old) computer via Midi-USB. Midi-ox shows data received when I twiddle the pod's knobs and the two data transmssion lights are now flashing  (that's progress, but its not my laptop (windows Vista OS, or desktop, windows XP). But Line 6 Edit can't connect to the pod. I now get a new message Pod 2.0 is currently busy !!!!

A couple of points worth noting.  First, Line 6 gear notoriously does not work consistantly with inexpensive MIDI connectors.  I use a M-Audio Midisport Uno and it works perfectly every time.

Another thing to consider, when you start up L6 Edit make sure that when you add the POD from the initial menu that you are pointing to the correct MIDI inputs and outputs.  For example, when I go to add my POD 2.0 to Edit, it finds my UX2 as the MIDI In Port, and Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth as the MIDI Out Port.  These need to be manually pointed to your MIDI connector's ports.

How about a screen shot of what you're seeing from the Line 6 Edit config screen?

I don't know why, but the Line 6 software does seem to be sensitive to the low end MIDI cables.  From what I've heard, some work, and some don't.  I don't expect that Line 6 is going to rewrite the MIDI routines in EDIT.  It has always worked perfectly for me with my M-Audio MIDISport UNO.
