Hi I have a bought the ux1 and i have these pops and cracks all the time i use win7 x64 and it's not only when i use podfarm even when i use media player to play music or reason with my midi keyboard i have these cracks on pops that i didn't had before using the device(using the onboard sound card)...
I disabled the onboard sound card and it helped a little but didn't resolved the problem entirely...
How do i resolve this problem?
30 views and no answers?
every computer is different... there is no one size fits all answer for you...
and some of those views could have been other people looking to see what may have worked for you...
here is a link with some optimizations you can try:
I tried it and it didn't helped...
try getting slim drivers here for free: http://www.driverupdate.net/
this will go through your system drivers including some that are easily forgotten and make sure you have the latest.
these updates have helped a few users.
everything is up to date and still clicks and pops...
how can i get a support ticket? i want to talk to someone from line 6 and i'll write the solution that worked here i just have to fix this problem as fast as possible...
Hey reggev,
Make sure that you have the most recent version of the Line 6 drivers and Monkey installed as well:
Windows Drivers 4.2.4.9:
http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4143
Line 6 Monkey 1.43:
http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4223
After successfully installing Line 6 Monkey and the drivers please try removing any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available.
Launch Line 6 Monkey and apply any updates that are available.
To ensure your Windows Vista or 7 computer is optimized to work with audio processing, please follow the link below for a official Microsoft optimization guide that has some more suggestions other than the ones provided in the our optimization videos.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Optimize-Windows-7-for-better-performance
I would also suggest that make sure that UX1 is set up as your computers sound card, to do so reference the video tutorial at the link below:
http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2083
In addition, if you are using a DAW, try increasing the buffer size on the audio preferences menu. As well as changing the buffer size on the Line 6 Audio-MIDI device menu which is located on the Control Panel. This will increase latency, so you will have to experiment which setting works best for your computer.
non of the thing you suggested helped...
it is the main soundcard all the others(including the audio out on the video card hdmi plug) are disabled,
windows is optimized, its the only usb device connected and still pops, I tried changing the buffer size and it made it worst and with latency...
can i please get a Support ticket i need this issue fixed as fast as possible!!
Hi, the only solution I found to this problem is to downgrade windows version to XP, I tried EVERYTHING in Win 7, nothing worked.
thank you BussSmith
but anyway i am not downgrading windows back to xp because it's just too much effort for an audio interface it's not supposed to be like this so i am returning the device back to the store...
the dealer was great it's the device that sucks the installation is too complicated the noises are annoying and the fact that i haven't got a support ticket yet after a week (bad service from line 6) just made it a bad product and i hope line 6 will wake up and fix these issues or get new products to replace the old ones anyway i am not attending to buy another line 6 product after this one sorry...
