And I am noticing that it is out of stock at many of the locations that I am trying to source from. Just curious if this could mean that there may be a new product release in the not to distant future or is a new version a long way off.
I know that this can't be answered accurately.....just wanting a general feel ![]()
Thanks,
D
Line 6 generally makes significant new product announcements at the annual NAAM conference (late Jaunary). If nothing is announced there it's likely that there's nothing significant coming for another year.
Personally, I don't anticipate anything new in the guitar multi-fx line just yet. I think the Pod HD series will be the latest and greatest for a while. But that's just my opinion - I know nothing more than you or any other user about that.
perfect....thanks! ![]()
Just to note....I used to have a Pod HD500 (that I loved but sold it). I also have the AxeFX II and really like the rack mounted format and would love to add the Pod HD Pro back in...
You can get an HD Pro from Hello Music for $579, fwiw.
excellent....thanks Phil!
You don't happen to know if they ship into Canada do you?
Thanks,
D
I don't know. I'd send them an email. I've actually bought a few things from them and contacted them questions a few times, and they're pretty quick to get back.
One of the music stores I talked to said they didn't stock the PODHD Pro because they didn't sell very well. They were selling lots of PODHD Desktops, 500s, and 300s.
You have an AXE-FX II ? Why would you need to add anything else ?

Can't speak for the original poster, but I've seen quite a few people who have the Axe-FX and use Line 6 for certain effects. The general consensus seems to be that while the Axe effects are more powerful and pristine, they don't do vintage-style stuff quite as well, and they are much harder to dial in.
I have an AxeFx Ultra but I am on an extended work assignment away from my actual home. Rather than take my AxeFx rig, I took my trusty Pod XT. I just pulled the trigger on a bean HD to replace it so I can try out Line 6's new tech (they added the Soldano model so I didn't have to break my solemn vow to never buy a modeler that did not model the SLO). I adored the XT, so I am sure I'm in for a treat. Even though I have a "bigger" rig, I found lots of uses for the XT due to its portability, ruggedness, and inexpensive (compared to the Fractal) replacement/repair cost, I've used it as a preamp/FX unit for a combo amp via the loop, a dedicated sound card for my laptop (Axe was interfaced to the desktop system), etc.
PODs are incredibly useful tools, I sold a ton of preamps, pedals, amps, and other rack units whne I got the Axe but kept the XT, one combo amp, one rack unit, and two stompboxes. To me being on that short list says a lot for those units. I fully expect the HD to be a worthy replacement.
Thanks for the info.
Yes, I love the Axe FX II but also really loved the HD500 I had. As Phil mentioned there are some effects in the Pod HD that I prefer and it also has the full suite of M Class effects that I can use going straight into the front of a tube amp if I need that option. The more options, the better....I think ![]()
Thanks,
