Update Firmware TBP12 - G90

Hi, I have just updated my V70 systems to the new firmware. For the TBP12 Beltpack Transmitter there was only the chance during update procedure to choose to update to G90 Transmitter which I did.
On the Line6 Website there is this video tutorial that guides you through the update procedure.
When I switch on the updated TBP12 Bodypack it says G90 and firmware 2.0. Now I am trying to access the new "model" selection for mics and instruments on the TBP12 but I cannot get to the page where you can select this. The instructions for access of the models in the V75 System manual are the following:

"To select a particular equalization model for a lavalier, headset, or instrument microphone, press and

hold the SELECT button until the display changes to the channel setting screen. Quickly press the

SELECT button two more times to go to the [MODEL] page. You will see a three-digit designation for

the currently selected mic EQ model; press the VALUE button to scroll through the available models

– one per click. The model names will flash. To select one of the models, press the SELECT button

(the display goes to the next page of selection options) or do not push any buttons for approximately

15 seconds."

When I get to the channel setting screen and press the SELECT button two more times, then I just change to the next pages in the normal setup menu and I do not get the MODEL page.

Is there a difference between the updated G90 bodypack and the TBP12 bodypack? Is there a new procedure for accessing the model page?

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

Peter

    Re: Update Firmware TBP12 - G90

    G'day from Down Under, Peter...

I don't own a "G90", but I've had all sorts of instruments and mics running via my eight "V70" TBP12 beltpacks that I Monkey-flashed to V75 firmware early in 2012. (I just love all the voice and instrument "filters" that arrived with the re-flash !)

Accordingly, I'm just guessing that flashing to "G90" firmware assumes the exclusive use of "guitar cable" modeling, so a re-flash to "TBP12" firmware should be all you need to do for access to the flexibility that you're after and that I'm enjoying.

As I'm sure you appreciate, one huge advantage of Line 6's firmware-based approach is that you've absolutely nothing to lose by loading a different version.

    You can always revert.

Once you have done that there is no going back.  It will now always have the G90 features.

Not really much of a problem as either way it will automatically switch over from guitar cable to mic and then back depending on what you plug in.  You just wont get any of the built-in models.

I can't explain it.  I've upgraded probably a hundred of them and have never seen it come up that way in Monkey.  Sometimes you have to scroll a bit to see all the options.

The menu of possible choices automatically comes up when you plug in any V75 as the interface.  Monkey can't tell what transmitter you have.  That's why the menu comes up.

If you plug in your V75 do you not get the full menu now?

I have always had the full menu but when I chose the V70-Bodypack for the update process I had an error message on the screen that there was no device connected.

Glad you found a solution with Thomann.  But for the sake of anyone else reading this thread ...

Sometimes you will get that error message because of a time out, a computer hiccup or most commonly if the receiver doesnt pick up the transmitter because of placement along the antenna.  When this happens you just escape out and start over.

However now that you have a "dedicated" TBP12 you will now always see it if you try to select anything other that what the transmitter is setup as, e.g. V75, V55, G90, etc
