Stopped being lazy and found custom tone - but.....

A lot of the tones don't work. Wrong file format etc.
And I'm surprised as to what's NOT there - only one Queen (NOT WWRY - doh!). Hardly any GreenDay. No Stones.
But WAS pleasantly pleased to find Rock this town by the stray cats. And it worked....
Is there somewhere to go other than custom tone?
I'm still looking for a few tones - WWRY, HOLIDAY - and channel IV of the DT. (Its there but doesn't work)
Cheers.
File format tip:
Being a PODHD Desktop owner I found most of the customtones where in HD500 format, which I couldn't use. I downloaded the HD500 Editor and would bring up the patches in offline mode. Then I would type them into the PODHD Desktop Editor. It only took about 15 minutes to recreate them (typically) and I ended up learning quite a bit about how to configure differant tones.
In the end it helped me to finally create the tones I was looking for.
Great tip - there's heaps more there.
What do you mean bring up the patches in offline mode???
Offline mode means running the device editor program without the device connected. You can do this with the Pod HD series devices. So, if you own a Pod HD Desktop, you can still run HD500 Edit and HD Edit simultaneously, allowing you to view/inspect the HD500 presets in the editor window and maually recreating the preset in HD Edit.
However, ther is s simpler way - use the Pod HD patch converter program, generously provided by one of our online community members (thanks jzab!):

Milesarall,
I must apologise as for some unkown reason I thought you had a HD500 (Did you say which unit you had.... sorry if I missed it).
Anyway, now joel and silverhaed have advised how you can get the patch set up cross (HD) platform, you will be able to use the HD500 WWRY tone on custometone.
I am a little hesitant to say what I am about to given the supposed 'atitude' I was apparently demonstrating in your other post.. but all I can say is please take this as informational rather than critical, but your other post is essentially the same point you continue to discuss here, but was opened as a question. Would be best either to continue with the same post, or mark the old one as answered (as people may got to the old post noticing it is unanswered to assist without realising that you may have received an answer here).
HD 300 owner. Downloaded a bunch of great tones today. SO EASY!!! Roland/Boss has a high P.I.A. factor. Line 6 is fun and easy! Loving it! No librarian/3rd party software B.S. to deal with. Nicely Done!
Wait a minute now. What do you want? In your last thread, you said you wanted "any help you could get", but then whined about the help you got, becuase you already knew what was said. Seems to my that you didnt need "any" help you could get.
So, do you now want help from people who may or may not have all the answers right at their fingertips, or do you want opinions/experiences that people have had, even though you may already be familiar with what they have to say?
Let me say this:
Custom Tone is the only place I have seen a collection of POD HD tones for DL.
Now, you already know about custom tone, so go ahead and bash me for giving you info you already have.
Mate another way to find Queen, Brian May patches. In customtone search just put in Vox...or AC30....you might have to tweak but some are great fella. Good luck.
Hey Jonesy... (& Cairnsey)
Read the subject heading. I was taking the **** out of myself and have since gone out and learnt how to use custom tone - I admitted I was being lazy and asking to be spoon fed - & laughed when I was.
So now I've done it more seriously with custom tone as have further questions hence the new thread. Big deal. I'm asking for more help - and getting amazing advice. So lets not be precious.
Thanks to the others who have offered support. I've learnt a lot. I'm very aware I've done this a little *** about but I'm also learning as I go.
I wasnt suggesting that you did not ask any more questions (and I went to some lengths to make my point regarding the second thread politely). In fact I wish I could help more.
I am still unsure that this is really a 'further' question though, as unless I am misreading, the ultimate goal of both threads remains the same.
Having said all that, I am just trying to give some guidance (it is possible that some peole may take more offence and the 'double post' than I)... either way, its up to you.
Hope you had sucess in your search and luck with the answers other have provided.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
