Great look! Just one question - How does it look with loading and saving settings? It would be really nice to has this available so we can share our tones like on CustomTone ;-)

    Re: DT Editor

Nothing for Mac? Not your fault of course (nice application), but man, am I ever feeling like a rube...

I bought a DT25 based on how Line 6 made it sound easy to expand the capabilities. 8 amps, 4 voicings per channel with two channels - all withot having a menu on my amp. Perfect. But...not only do they not inform their dealers about which USB to MIDI interfaces work (I had to run out to buy one after the one that I ordered with the amp wouldn't work), but the 2.0 firmware, in and of itself, buys you nothing but the chance to spend more money on Line 6 hardware.

This quote from the 2.0 firmware page:

"You can also control your amp’s enhanced MIDI functionality via a Mac® or PC computer with a USB-to-MIDI interface and compatible software capable of sending MIDI CC information."

makes it seem like this is a snap. In reality, you either buy the iPhone/iPad hardware, you buy an HD500, or you have to be a MIDI expert. Or you're screwed, stuck with a 4-voicing amp that isn't versatile enough (IMO) to be worth it.

This one's probably going back. I really, REALLY don't want to do that, but my sense of basic dignity tells me I should.

    Matt

    Re: DT Editor

I'm not going to. Line 6 sells the DT25 firmware V2 as though it is a simple thing to take advantage of. But it's not. And they don't provide that Windows software, so someone developing it for them in their spare time, IMO, only serves to shame them.

actually kind of shames you, for demanding everything in life is easy or you won't do it.... if it's not worthwhile to you then by all means don't bother...

i'm thankful there are people like rollo out there that do this because they love it... but before he came along, I did things the other way... because i cared enough to bother.

if you can't be bothered, then it's obviously not that important to you... and if it's not that important to you, why come here to kick up a fuss?

    Re: DT Editor

Deamding everything in life is easy? Oh, come on. It's called a business arrangement. As a customer, I decide what I want to buy. They advertised the V2 firmware. I bought at DT25 based on capabilities portrayed as being easy to use, which are not (both assessments by Line 6 Tech support, who are more sympathetic than you). It's not that "I can't be bothered." It's that I purchased based on the protrayal that *they* had bothered.

I don't owe it to Line 6 to work extra hard to make their product work for me. This isn't public service. It's a product for sale. I bought it based on Line 6's website claims, which Line 6's own staff say were misleading in making it seem simpler than it is.

They can't be bothered to put in the effort that a volunteer did to make their product actually deliver their claims in a reasonably user-friendly fashion. Your fan-boy rationalization and bizarre inference that I want everything easy in life (as opposed to wanting the company I paid to deliver the ease of use they implied with the V2 release) doesn't change that.

I've worked my backside off at everything in life, from education to work to personal relationships. I'm not going to be judged lazy because I want what Line 6 *admits* they led me to believe I'd paid for.

    Re: DT Editor

The DT's were advertized and sold for what they are BEFORE the firmware update. Awesome amps for a good price. That's what you paid for. The firmware update is just an added - free - bonus. It's for those who want to pursue, learn and use - or for those who already have the capability and ability. It's not that difficult at all. I knew absolutely nothing and was able to do it. The additional equipment needed is not very expensive and has uses other that the DT. An Uno midi / usb adapter and the Line 6 Midi mobilizer (if you don't run Windows) is all you need and both have multiple, fun, uses. The DTEdit is much better, but ya gotta find a way around Windows (still need the Uno midi/usb adapter). Good Luck - make the investment and enjoy!

    Re: DT Editor

I bought after the update, which is loudly featured on the product page now. If they'd been up front and 1) Actually stated which USB/MIDI interfaces work - I had to return one, and left me already annoyed and 2) Just cut to the chase and said "this only works if you are a MIDI guy or you buy more hardware," I would have either passed or known what I was getting into. It's an annoying buzz kill the way it happened, and it makes me feel like I am geting suckered into the MIDI Mobilizer.

    Re: DT Editor

Okay. Take a deep breath, calm down and rationalize. I can understand why you're upset, but think about the whole scenario. You got a great amp for what it is. Get the Uno Midi Sport. Do what rollo suggested. Then, download that great DTEdit program. You don't have to know ANYTHING about midi - it's extremely easy to use. Easier than most pedals, actually. As you expand your knowledege and abilities, you'll find many more uses for the UNO. Right now, you're upset and feeling burned - so yer not thinking clearly - and, like I said before, I can't really blame you. But...don't let that stop you from enjoying what ya have!!!

P.S. Also, the people on this forum are the greatest! I'm not a fanboy at all, but these people have helped me out immensely. I get nothing from Line 6 support at all. There's an absolutely wealth of help and knowledge here. I think ya just came off a li'l strong 'cuz yer upset. You want friends here.

I have a Mac. I can't use DTEdit. I already got the Uno last night - after the first interface I bought didn't work.
