Just bought an older Variax - need info on power system

Do i need to purchase the line-6 power module or could i get by cheaper with a generic one ?   What's the difference, and what specs should i look for in a generic ?

    you would ideally want the original line6 power because it provides AC power and replacement power is typically DC.

     

    although you could find an aftermarket AC adapter that would work...

    far easier and safer just to do a web search for "line6 px2" and that will help you find the original... it's used on lots of older line6 gear (m13, pod x-series, variax)
