This would be great. With this application we will have all three major platforms covered.

Awesome. Cool that individual developers can do what Line 6 neglectd to. It really is a great amp if yiu can use it to its full potential. They owe you too a hearty thank you.

Keep up the great work. I use an HD500 and this gets me considering the 4 cable method

OK, I think it's ready for release. It's my first Mac app, but I think it works pretty well. And it's a great tool to explore the DT50. Here is what it looks like...
You can check out and modify the amp's settings, and the app keeps a copy that you can save later use. You can even save the knob settings, if you find a combination you like. But, you'll have to explicitly store these.
You can also generate a report that shows all the settings. It looks like this...
The report is in Word XML format. So, you can print it with a version of Word that can read this format. Most PC versions can do this easily. But, I have had trouble doing it on a Mac. If any Mac users know how to read a Word XML format file, please let me know.
You can download the app in a zip file at this link...
EDIT: new version...

Please let me know if you find this app useful, and/or you would like to see some features added.
Thanks,
Cass

Can anyone confirm what the default factory cab settings are for the DT25 ?
As I posted earlier in this thread, when I used DTEditor to interrogate my amp it reported it reported cab sims on the Class A & Treadplate but not on Blackface & P75 (I actually was expecting no cab sims at all).

Check my post earlier in this discussion, as it was in response to your earlier posting.
The default settings on the DT25 and DT50, are cab sims on, and the default cab sim is the default for the amp model you pick. So for the recto, it uses the recto cab (treadplate). for the Park75, it uses the park cab, for the AC30, the AC30 cab, and the same for the fender. the amp model uses its stock cab, just like when you select it on a POD HD.
You're forgetting that the peramp is modelled in DSP, and it's using the POD HD preamp models, put through a real analog tube amp (in the DT) that's reconfigured to be similar to the original amp. If you then had cab sims off it wouldn't sound like the original, so L6 picked a speaker that worked well when using the cab sims on, but voiced for a combo or a stack cab. i.e. the same as the output modes in a POD, combo and stack power amp output mode. BUT if you prefer with the cab sims off, then that's cool too. Especially if you want to use a non DT cab, and you have another cab of your own, sure the cab sims will work through anything, but if you're after a greenback sound, and you've got a nice 1970's Marshall 4x12 with original greenbacks in it... why use a cab sim of a 4x12 with greenbacks, you can turn it off and use the real thing :-)
Hopw that helps you to understand a bit more.

I have DT25, but when i hit Boost( only for DT50) on the editor- the sound changes. Why is that?

I have noticed this too with my DT-25 but I am grateful for whatever reason the boost works. It goes a long way towards giving the clean models some extra oomph to compete with the inherent levels of the higher gain amps. Don't change a thang!

Interesting... do the other supposedly-DT50-exclusive features also work for the DT25?

Boost is the only one of the three "DT-50" features that works with a DT-25 in DT Edit At least that's what my ears hear..

Great info Rowbi!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when using HD500 with the DT25, the preamp modelling is only in the HD500 and not through the tube preamp stage in the DT?
The only way to use the tube preamp in the DT is to connect the guitar in the input of the DT?
That's not what I anticipated from the "Dream Rig"....

The DT amplifiers do NOT have a tube preamp stage...The 12AX7s are 100% part of the power amp...The preamp is an HD digital modeler in ALL DT amplifiers...

Steep,
Space is right, the 12ax7 in the dt25 and one of them in the dt50 are the phase inverter, which is part of the power amp. The other 12ax7 in the dt50 adds boost for some models i think, but the main Pre amp sim is in DSP. I assume that boost is modelled in the dt25 and POD for the models that need it, but not 100% sure.
I also am certain the boost in the dt50 isn't used when a pod is connected. But again, I assume its not needed as any model that needs that can use DSP for it.
