Hi I just got a Line 6 Pod HD500 I have it connected
To my line 6 UX8 through the unbalanced
1/4 left out of HD500 into my instrument
1Input on the UX8 into sonar x2 but in sonar
I cannot adjust my guitar level in my track
The sound from my guitar is always constant
Even if I lower my level all the way in sonar
Could somone help?
Thank you....
are you sure the selected audio card for your track recording is UX8?
if not, maybe it is set instead on HD500, in wich case the master volume knob position of your POD will be irrelevant (just for monitoring purposes)..
the signal going through USB is digital and you can control its level with the "Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices" driver application.. you can find it in your start menu..
(clik on the pic to zoom-in)
just adjust the "Record Send Level"
otherwise be sure to select UX8 as the source for your recording track, and in this case use the POD master volume knob to set the right level
Yes it's the UX8 that is the input
Of my track the Pod500 is not connected
Through USB to my computer.
On playback I could adjust the level
Of my guitar And pan but not why'll
I'm recording or why'll I'm Just
playing
Probably the only way to set the correct recording level is directly from your POD:
- with the master volume knob if you are connected through your UX8 analog inputs
- or with the Record Send Level control of your POD driver if are digitally connected by USB
Is there a way to connect the pod hd500 to be able
To adjust level and pan in my sonar track why'll
I'm playing?
yes, eg you can insert the Volume fx and Pan fx in your chain and control both FXs with the expression pedal..
you can find those informations in the advanced manual
I'm sorry that's not what I mean
Is there a way to connect the pod hd500 to be able
To adjust level and pan in my sonar track why'll
Someone els is playing?

I think that in Sonar the monitoring level and pan setting of a track can be changed while it's recorded or when is in playback regardless of the way the POD is connected, and maybe those parameters changes can also be recorded at the same time as an automation.. but for that topic you have to ask in the Cakewalk forum, or study the Sonar manual..
if you can't change the monitored track volume and pan setting maybe you have to toggle some Sonar switch, let say: track monitoring on or off.. I don't know.. I use Cubase
regarding the HD500 you can connect it only in 3 ways: digitally through USB or S/PDIF, or through the analog inputs of an audio card, that's it, no special tricks..
I think your issue depends only on Sonar track settings
Thank you for the info I will check with sonar...

search for "monitoring armed track" or something similar.. probably you'll find the info you need.. monitoring live audio and playback recorded audio are different things and routings..
I found monitoring on/of in sonar
It's callas Eco in sonar it's a switch
On the tracks,it's still the same.
I noted too that if I turn of my computer
And play I still get sound from my monitors???
Is that normal??

maybe yes if your monitors are connected to the UX8 still on..
Yes it is ok I gess I will have to live with
It and adjust my levels after the guitar tack
Has been recorded

When I connect my guitar direct to the
UX8 without connecting the HD500
all the levels are working
If I put the level of the track all the way
Down I don't here my guitar, witch is
Not the same as if I connect the GD500
In between.
you're telling me that by connecting a guitar alone or with the pod at the same UX8 input, the track volume works only when is connected just the guitar?? ..
does not make any sense!
Are you kidding me?
The track level works all the time I think I understand the pod has its own amp
And that is what I am hearing when I turn
The level in my track all the way down.
Could that be?
the only logic explanation is that the UX8 input where you connect your POD is directly monitored out bypassing Sonar, and the UX8 input where you connect just the guitar is not directly monitored..
if instead in your experiment above the UX8 physical input used for the connections is the same for both the guitar alone and with the POD in between, as i said before: does not make any sense that the Sonar track volume influences only the guitar (alone) level, and not with the POD in between...
Thank you for your time....
