Powered Floor Wedge for HD500 etc, what's the best?

I picked up my HD500 and I'm looking to get a really nice powered floor monitor and I'm curious to hear what everyone is using and likes, or what not to get etc.
Thanks!
Clark
I use a Behringer B212A. I also use a Variax for acoustic sounds. That's mainly why I went with a powered p.a. speaker. Plus, I sit it on the floor in front of me on three stage next to the other monitor. That way I not only hwar my guitar well, the sound guy has all the control he needs since he doesn't have to compete with a loud guitar amp.
As of this week, I expect the answer is the new Line 6 StageSource product line:
For a REALLY nice speaker, the StageSource seems to be the ticket. Question is, do you have 1200 bucks to cruise through?
There are other options out there. QSC K-series, Mackie Thump, Atomic amps...
What is your budget?
I know - it's pricey. But I thought I should mention it because the question was 'What's the best?' not 'What's the best value for my limited budget'?
You're right to ask about budget.
And as much as I'd like one, it has far more functionality then I would ever use. Maybe once I had a full studio of instruments, but 1,400 watts is even a bit much for that. It looks like they had installations in mind with this thing.
Not a bad thing at all. If they made a smaller one (2-way?) and sold it at 800 or so, they'd really compete with what is already out there, at least on the high end.
Id say I don't want to spend over $1,000. I've seen what's out there, but what have you guys used? I'm looking at the QSC K12 or something like that.
Good news. Just watching some of the NAMM videos as they surface, Line 6 is also releasing the "m" version of their loudspeaker. Same power, same size and layout, they just took away the EQ and effects panel (which most powered monitors don't have anyhow). Suggested retail? 999. Street will be less than that. You still get all the modes of the L3t as well.
I got lucky and found a pair of FBT MaxX2A on fleabay for about £600:
10" speaker, 200+50W and a basic EQ and they work great as monitors or as backline with an HD500. Relatively small and light I can easily carry one per hand and the max spl of 121bB is more than enough for my ears... http://www.fbtusa.net/2acs.html
And a comparison of 10" Powered Speakers http://www.fbtusa.net/files/Test_Report_10inch_Pow._Speakers_Tools_engl1.pdf (ok FBT are hosting this 'cause the MaxX 2A "wins", but independent comparisons for a range of PA speakers are quite hard to find).
I've been using Seismic Audio stuff for years and have never had a problem with their stuff. VERY cost effective, And the support staff is amazing. Only time I have ever had a defect (a broken tweeter mount on a floor monitor) they sent a replacement with just my word and an emailed photo. Hell - these guys customized a cab for my guitarist that sounds better then some very pricy stuff.
Would look at one of ther 10" or 12" molded cabs (they have angled surfaces that work well for floor monitors) and get away with about a $200 investment rather then paying big $$$ for some big-brand's advertisement budget.

I have had great success with a pair of JBL PRX612M, got them new for $1200.
Where did you find a pair of PRX612M for $1200?
I went with the QSC K-12 and I absolutly love it!
Has anyone tried the EV elx112p? The Live X series is meant to compete with the QSC K series. It gets great reviews when compared to the K-12 (many people like it better) and is about $200 cheaper. It runs $599 normally and you can get "B" stock for $479 at americanmusical.com right now.
Check out the Alto speakers before the EV. I was more impressed with the ALto in sound quality and FR quality. Much cheaper also. I think the 15" is going for $349 and MF is running a coupon for $50 off of purchases over $299
Stay in the mix and in the know.
