Computer-based license issue with intel mac running OS10.4.11

I'm running Mac OS10.4.11 on my intel-based mac with 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Xeon. When using License Manager to activate my Tone Port UX2, after logging in to my account both in the Manager application and on the website, I receive the error : "(Code 8000303e) User not Logged in." I also see the dialogue box under the My Computer tab that says: "Computer based licenses are only supported on Intel-based Macs running 10.5 or higher. I am therefore unable to activate my device, which is necessary to use it within my Ableton Live.

Is there any way I can activate my device without having to upgrade my whole system software, which I cannot afford to do? Please advise.

well i have the same problem, and i am running 10.6.8.
Do you have a solution line 6?

every second time i scan devices my UX2 is not found.
Every other second time it finds it.
I have all upgrades and podfarm 2.51.
all is installed and ux2 is working fine as sound module but no function of podfarm 2.51 in either logic or GB.
This is a free upgrade from podfarm 1.0 thogh and podfarm 1 is working (32bit)

SAME PROBLEM!!!

I'm running 10.4.11 too, on a g5 ppc and after a good installation, when I try to authorise the license on my new UX2, I can't because it says internet based licenses need an Intel mac running 10.5 or later.

It's annoying because on the box it says, UX2 system requirements for Mac are a G5 and 10.4.6 - so I should be good to go - according to the box!

I've been using the UX1 for years - very happily, but I sold it to upgrade to this UX2 for the phantom power, so now I have no working interface!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HURTS!!!!!!!

So let's go Line 6. PLEASE sort out my UX2 license. Before Xmas. I've got two weeks off and I'm dying to get stuck into those POD Farm Amps.

I may be able to help

I found out from line 6, I can use pod farm (not pod farm 2, that ships with ux2) with a different driver.

I downloaded both pod farm and the driver from "downloads' on line6.com.

For pod farm: choose - software/podfarm - download

For the driver: choose - software/drivers - download version 4.7.1 for PowerPC

I installed both and off we go!!!! Obviously I'm a bit annoyed I can't use pod farm 2 but at least I can use the ux2's phantom power for my mic now.

  I forgot to say - the original pod farm software does not need online registration thus bypassing the Intel and 10.5 requirements

If your computer is not compatible with License Manager, you could use another computer to authorize and activate it and then bring it back to your computer. The other solution is the suggestion that doobydoobydo suggested above to download and install POD Farm 1.12 and v4.7.1 of our drivers. I have provided the links to download the software below:

  I have this same problem (10.4.11). How should this "authorize and activate it and then bring it back to your compute" be done? When I copy it with USB stick (from Leopard) , then try to authenticate, License Manager opens, but says "only supported on intel based Macs running 10.5 or higher."

    you cant use the license manager you have to use the offline activation method from another machine.

      Thanks, that was quick! :-)
      However, "Now pad farm has detected a valid license but it hasnt been authorized for this computer. Simply run Line 6 Monkey to authorize your UX2 and restart Pod Farm 2"
      But that Monkey requires 10.5 so how can I authorize...?

        you need to use pod farm 2.0x if you try with pod farm 2.5x you will have issues.

        Yep, v. 2.02 it is. Should it be on the online computer also (2.53 there now). Do In need to uninstall then that and use 2.02 also on online computer? If, How can I unsintall? Sorry if im stupid...

        I know longer have an apple computer available to accurately guide you here.... it was a pain in the butt to get setup, but it did work. hopefully someone else with more current mac info will jump in and help.
