Can I use a G50 with a vocal transmitter like a V55-BP or V55-HHTX for wireless mic?

I already have a G50 that I bought over a year ago for guitar. I have a separate need to use it for wireless mic during a video recording.
Can I use the V55-BP or V55-HHTX with the G50 for this purpose?
Do I need to be concerned about updating firmware?
Thanks!
V55 transmitters will work with G50 receivers. You only need to update the firmware in the G509 receiver if you wish to use RF2 mode. To run in RF1 mode without upgradiing just switch the transmitter to RF1 mode.
Hi DBoomer,
Thanks for your answer, but can you please advise, how to do that? I have an old G50 and a new V55-BP transmitter, can it be switched or upgraded via Monkey?
Thanks ![]()

So first ... you don't have to flash anything. You will just need to switch the new transmitter into RF1 mode.
But if you want your old unit to work in RF2 mode (which is not my first choice) then you'll ned to falsh your old unit. Instructions and a video are in the document section of the wireless microphone forum.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
