Default setting for L3m with Pod HD500?

Man I really wish there were some actual instructiosn in regards to the L3t/M combonation.

 

When I power on my L3m with my HD500, it automatically changes the power output setting to Power Amp Combo.

 

Is this the default setting for the HD500 and the L3m?

 

If so, is there any way to make the default Studio/Direct?

 

I've tried saving per patch like I had to do with the Speaker Modes (I'm assuming saving Speaker mode to Electric Guitar per patch is standard practice, but without instructions I cant be sure)

 

When I change to Studio/Direct, it stays like that for all my patches, till I power on the L3m again and it switches back to Power Amp Combo.

 

 

 

After my initial problems in regards to the speakers not powering on when I got them, I am getting paranoid that the speaker is not operating as it should.

 

 

Any help/info greatly appreciated as usual.

 

 

P.S. For what its worth, when I've got it working the way I want it to, it sounds incredible, just wish it would stay that way!!

    I also have the L3T/M HD500 combo.  I really love this setup but I can't figure out why if you use the L6 link it always defaults to power amp combo everytime you turn the hd500 on.off.  To me the default should be studio direct since it is supposed to be a FR/FR setup.  Also, my L3M powers on as it should everytime so you may want to address your problem with tech support. 

     

    I also agree the sound is fantastic and very loud when needed.

      Thanks for your reply.

       

      At least now I have know mine is operating normally in regards to the power output setting.

       

      In regards to the power issues, that was only when I first received the speakers where I had an issue with them not turning on and I believe the problem was a acclimatisation issue as 2 out of the 3 ended up working and have been working without issue since. Line 6 are replacing the one that never powered on.

       

      Can anyone clarify that the speaker modes have to be saved per patch and that if you don't save, it will go to Reference/P.A. as default?

      I believe that is correct ... but that really is a HD500 question so you'll get a better answer on that forum.

       

      If you don't select a new mode the speaker always defaults to he last saved mode.

        Well the reason I asked the question here is because it's relating to the way the speaker behaves in regards to the HD500.

         

        It's good to know that the Speaker mode defaults to the last setting it was on. Was getting a bit confused when I was going from playing out of my HD500 and then popping the speaker on a stand and the speaker mode was staying the same. I had it in my head that the spaker mode would change to Reference/PA when mounted on a pole but through reading the manual again, realised all it did was turn the virtual tilt back off.

         

        I know Line 6 just published a guide for L6 Link to be used with the HD series and the DT series of amps, but is there any word of a similar guide coming out for the HD series and the Stagesource family?

    Out of curiosity, is that set up (HD500 + L3M) loud enough for band practice and gigs? I knoit's kind of a stupid question, but thinking of getting 1 and want to make sure. Thanks

      It's more than loud enough.... It's fundamentally designed as a P.A. speaker remember, so it was always going to be loud enough.
