Harmonizer with Podx3 live sounds ugly?

I have a harmonizer pedal that im trying to use with the Podx3, but no matter what i try to do, when I add just the slightest hint of distortion the sound (with harmonizer on) sounds so distorded and ugly that its unusable. Anyone can help me?
