Stand alone it sounds awesome. Best amp sounds I've ever owned. Full and warm and thick.
I don't have the update - I just have the standard IV channels and that's all I really need with an wxception of a scooped sound on IV and a volume boost.
So I'm getting ready to plug my HD300 in - I'm really keen to see if it was ears or memory that digitised it. I've got all day to experiment and I'm going to give it everything I can to make it work. I don't want to use midi if I can help. It...

Or don't.
Well there you go.
I'm usually the guy that makes a decision and gets in there and just gets the job done. But with this project it's been an absolute stuff up.
I say that because I've been wringing my hands and 'woeing is me' that this is going to be crap before I even got my amp.
But plugging it in as one should - using (no more at this stage) preamps and making sure the pod is set to live - it sounds amazing. No digital sound at all.
Through my trace - definitely digital, but that's not using the link system (obviously)
Writing this I just switched to the studio mode on the pod - super digital even though its through the link.
I reckon this is what I hear a year ago when old mate set it up in the shop that turned me off. Not my fault he didn't know his product.
I can't hear the different between amp and amp/pod.
Thanks to all that helped - Zap especially. I had him pulling his hair out and turns out I was wrong.
Insert punch smiley face in the eyeball here.....
Glad you got your rig and I'm glad you like it.
Cheers. I'm selling my trace elliot and upgrading to a 500 and a second cab (& finish my Warmoth Strat)
