Hi,
Before updating my M20D I'd like to know what are all the new features and read a description of each of them, possibly of video of the new features. I need to know precisely what's going to change (I have a gig in 3 days...). But where's that information? Thank you.
Cheers
A detailed description of the new features is in the revised Advanced User's Guide ... downloadable on the "manuals" page.
You won't have to change the way you do anything now, but there are some additional features as well as some minor system improvements. We recommend that you update. Just remember to backup your presets as the upgrade will erase them.
Also remember to go to the App Store and download the new version of the iPad app. It also has been improved and the old one does not work with V1.1 firmware.
Thanks Mr. Boomer, I just updated, Update itself went fine. Just tried the new Multitrack rec. It took the old setups, and the marker system works as a charm already... Now where's that new Guide...
cheers

Before updating I want to backup my setup to the SD card. I do it but receive no notification saying "your setup is saved" or "a backup already exists with the same name"... Is that normal? How to be sure I will be able to restore my setup after the update? I want to be sure about that...
In system settings -> Backup -> Restore From Backup you will see the file "BackupFile.Bin"
Yes that's what I see but how to be sure it's the right file? There's no date associated to it.
You can name file in the "Backup Presets" dialog. If you name it "Backup 1-29-2013" you can tell it apart from other backups.
I did that but there's no backup file on my SD card after I save it... My SD card only contains a BackupFile.bin that has no date so I don't know when it was saved. Now when I create another backup file by giving it a new name (as you said above) that new file cannot be found on my card.
What's wrong? I cannot update the mixer without being sure I have the right backup file because I don't want to lose hours of work...
Hello,
I just successfully backed up my setups and scenes on a version 1.00 StageScape and restored them on a v 1.10 StageScape. The way I made sure that this was the backup of my most current setups and scenes was create a new folder just for this backup. When you tap on "Backup Presets", tap on "Choose Location" and create a new folder. I named my folder "Backup13012". You can also rename the backup file. The .bin file is then saved in that folder as the only file in that folder. You can then remove the SD card and reinsert it in the StageScape when you want to restore your setups and scenes.
Creating a new folder with just those backups in it will be the best way to reassure that .bin file has the newest backup. Other than that, you will have to trust that file is good. I have not seen one of these files fail yet.

Yes I had to create a specific folder for the backup file otherwise it does not work if I want to save the backup file to the root of the SD card.
So I applied the update (fingers crossed!) and restored my backup file and all seems to be like before in my setup. The Record utility is far better and all my recordings work now.
Hans ... how did I miss you in Anaheim??? ![]()
Next time I guess!
I didn't make the trip this time. It's crisis here in Holland aswell :-) And our Queen is stepping down...
Will you make it out to Messe, I plan to go there..
cheers
