I'm trying to turn on the noise gate on my Spider iv 75 and can't find any info.
I did find find something on an preset encoder but they don't tell you what that is.
Thanks for any help.
okturn the reverb knob down all the way, hold the tap tempo ( or bank 'D' button, hard to remember which) and turn the reverb knob past 12oclock and the gate is activated. please mark this correct if it helped
You need to access the Gate parameters from Edit Mode.
'Wake up' the reverb setting by turning that knob.
From the Spider user manual ('right arrow' refers to the 4-way control disc):
Gate
If you press the right arrow from the Reverb screen, you’ll see the Gate screen. Your Gate Mode choices are Off (Gate is disabled), Gate (a standard noise gate), NR (a frequency dependent noise reduction) or Gate+NR (both Gate+NR together). You can also adjust Threshold and Decay settings. Gate parameters are saved with the individual preset.
wait is he talking about a spider 4?
He said Spider IV 75 ![]()
oh, im only familiar with ths spider 3
I figured out how to adjust the gate, only I dont know what it does, what it means and I dont hear anything much different in the sound.
the gate will not change your sound / tone,
it is used if you have a noisey guitar singal / hum.
it works like a gate on a fence, you can adjust it to open with very little signal, or more signal,
it will only open when your playing your guitar to let the signal through, once you stop playing, it closes.
shutting off the signal from the guitar to make your amp quite.
Thank you, last night I had somebody explain it to me exactly like you did. Thanks again.
