Both my highway 100 full and pre lack bass frequencys.
Sound is thick like the sound you hear when you stand beside someone who is listening his ipod. (just kidding)
Is it really an emulation of Hiwatt 100 4x12. I don't see how I can do David Gilmour lead sound with that amp emulation.
Am I wrong? Is it another amp? This one sound like 1 inch speaker
this amp needs a fairly high drive setting to bring out his true voice..
consider also trying different mics
I'm sure I read somewhere that Gilmour runs his Hiwatts through Marshall cabs - though I might be mistaken.
I generally switch to the 4x12 Greenback cab and to the 57 mic (either on or off axis) and i also raise the channel volume to about 70/75.
This gives the amp a much fuller and punchier feel
Also, I don't think you'll get Gilmour lead tones just using the amp alone.....Gilmour uses various Compression and Drive pedals to get his tones.
Have you looked at www.gilmourish.com - there are loads of great tips for getting his sound if you search that site.
Hello, I use this preset, with my speakers and my guitar really sound very Gilmour "Comfortably numb":
