Hi guys,
Never done this before so I am looking for some help ... I just want to hook up my HD 500 to my PC and record using Audacity. Do I just need a 1/4" jack cable plugged into L/R unbalanced output jacks going to 1/8" input jack (blue?) on PC? is there anything else I need to know? and do I need a cable that has 2 jacks 1/4 " for both left and right jacks or do you just need one plugged into L output?
Thanks
You can record directly from HD500 using USB cable. You need to install LIne6 drivers first and then you will see HD500 as separate sound card, so you don't need to route your signal from jack or xlr connectors but you can use single USB cable instead.
+1 above. USB is definitely the way ahead.
Use ASIO drivers if they're available. I think it's in Edit > Preferences in Audacity.
And use live monitoring from your HD500 so latency isn't an issue.
... and remember to connect your speakers/monitors to the HD500 outputs, not your computer.
Thanks for your help guys, will let you know how I make out
hmmm not hearing anything and nothing is recording in Audacity am I missing something?
Thanks for your help guys I figured it out
