There are several methods. You don't mention what model Pod you have, bu if it uses a usb connection to your computer, it should become your soundcard when connected. Your computer tunes will play through the Pod, so connect your speakers/headphones to your Pod to monitor the sound.
Or, if your Pod has a cd/mp3 input you could route the headphone output from your PC into the cd/mp3 input.
Or, have you tried connecting the outputs (headphone out would be best) of your Pod to the microphone input on your PC?
Another alternative is to use a small mixer, and connect both your computer and your Pod outputs into separate mixer inputs.
This is a Bass Podxt and there is no cd/mp3 input in the pod...only midi.....there is a Model Out along with headphones Out
I tried putting the the headphones out to the mic in on the PC but that didn't work (do I have to attach the USB too at the same time?)....I'll try again, this time with the USB connected.....do I have to go to the line6.com website too and if I do, what do I do on the website?
If I put the PC out to the Pod In then where do I plug my bass?
I'll try again.......
Otherwise, the Pod gets sold and I'll just get a mixer, that seems the easiest solution.....it's just that I'd like to use the effects and tuner on the Pod too
+1 to Silverhead
Have you connected the Bass Podxt to the PC via USB ?
If you have never done this you will need drivers.
OK.....thanks.....which drivers do I need?
Connect your Bass Pod xt to your computer and run Line 6 Monkey. It will help you identify and install the required drivers.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
